I recently bought the Mustang amp and was excited about the Amplitube software. I loaded it last night. I have a Line 6 Toneport, and the software found it and defaulted to that as the ASIO interface. I thought, "Cool!"

However, when I plugged everything in....nothing...

So I went into Preferences and there didn't seem to be much to do, I clicked around on a couple things and was about to bag it for the evening when all the sudden it all started working! Don't really know why, but I'm grateful!

However, the latency is a killer! Never encountered that with the Line 6 software Gearbox. Does anybody know if there's a way to reduce the latency? Is that just the way it is and I've either got to deal with it or forget it (in which case I'll forget it). Or is it something that varies from one interface to another, and the Toneport just doesn't work well with it?

Fender has one of the best Warranties in the music instrument business (5 years). It was easy to get my broken amp replaced without difficulties.

Nothing wrong with my amp.

The issue is the latency I experience when I use the Fender Amplitube LE software with my Line 6 Toneport as the interface. Can this be improved? Any suggestions?

Sorry for the delay. Are you using the Line6 ASIO driver? There should be a buffer size adjustment on the ASIO control panel. Lowering the buffer will lower the latency. If you lower it so much that you begin to hear clicks and pops, raise the buffer until the they go away. I would start at a setting of 256.

That definitely helps. Still not quite as good as Line 6 Gear Box in terms of latency, but acceptable. However, this version is so limited (no effects) that I'm not sure how much I'd use it anyway. But hey, it was free, right, so it's all good!! Though I guess Ableton would have effects in it that could be used with it.

I also have a Line 6 Tone Port and have used it for years, I don't run the Abelton, but another DAW. I have no problems either when using the headphone out on the amp to the tone port, or when I use the USB on the amp as the input.

If you use the USB on the amp thenyou have to make sure you have installed the Fender ASIO drivers and go into control panel and make your recording input the Fender ASIO Mustang amp, and use the ASIO drivers for your Tone Port as your audio out. I have no latency problems either way. The settings in my DAW are still set up the way they have been for years, changed nothing, except the recording source in control panel and in the DAW.
