Sorry, I know there are threads on this topic, but they didn't help me. Yesterday, I bought a new MacBook Pro cause my windows note book had passed.
Now I found that fuse is working, but won't recognize my Mustang II anymore. I uninstalled fuse and that ms silverstuff and set it up again, but that didn't help.
As a usb-interface, mustang is recognized by the macbook.

Any ideas are welcome!

Hello,

Very strange, as the amp I just purchased would not accept a firmware update UNTIL I connected it to a MAC ...

I believe there are three packages that the Fuse installer runs:

- MS SilverLight
- Fender drivers
- Fuse app

You could try looking inside the downloaded dmg file (google) and try running teh Fender device driver setup again. In my travels with trying to get the firmware updated, I found that Fuse will recognize the state change once it is running when you connect/disconnect the amp ...

Hope this helps,

TeleHound

Thanks for answering, Telehound!

What do you mean by "looking inside the downloaded dmg file (google)"? I have no idea how to install the driver alone, since there is only a installer for the whole package, as far as I see!?

Hey Guys,

These problems sound like driver issues.

Go to System/Library/Extensions and trash the FenderDriver.kext and the MustangDriver.kext. Empty your trash and run the FUSE installer again.

Hi ... I want to share the solution how FUSE is running on a MacPro (Intel Quad with OS X 10.6.6):

This software is not properly working in 64-bit mode ... that's it, simple! After restarting my mac in 32-bit mode it's working fine ... FUSE is now recognizing the Mustang II and V.

How to start an Intel-Mac with OS X 10.6 in 32-bit mode: Restart your Mac by pressing both the keys "3" and "2" (hold the keys until the desktop is up) ... for returning into 64-bit mode press both the keys "6" and "4" when restarting.

A final word to the guys from support ... don't get me wrong ... here are a lot of suggestions without solutions (driver issues, installation corrupted etc.) ... and none of you got it that FUSE is only recognizing the amps in 32-bit on Macs (with Intel-processor)??? Took me not even half a day to figure that out! Tststs ...

Greetz from Germany

Actually, FUSE has been tested using 64 bit Mac OS X from day one. You may have to reinstall it once you boot in 64 bit in order for the 64 bit drivers and other things to install. It does work and it is supported though. Try that and let me know if you experience any issues.

I just bought the Mustang II this evening. Connected my MacBook Pro to the amp, but it always shows up as "No Amplifier Connected".

I tried the "boot in 32-bit mode" and sure enough, the amp connected just fine. I was able to update the amp firmware, which stated was needed, as the amp wasn't going to work with FUSE without the update. Firmware flashed fine.

Rebooted the Mac back in the default 64-bit mode and no dice!! I can't connect to the Mustang II.

Looking at the system.log file on the Mac, I see a ton of spew about not being able to find some file:

.FenderFUSE[233]: cat: exiting: No such file or directory
Apr 1 23:10:55: --- last message repeated 29 times ---

And that is repeated about 100 times! Not sure if that indicative of any problem?? I've uninstalled, I've whacked the kext files in /System/Library/Extension, and re-installed them and rebooted....nada...no amp there in 64-bit mode. ??
