I have a Mustang III. I've downloaded band track. It's in the Fender audio folder under MP3. If I right click on it, I'm able to "preview" a few seconds of it. But..nothing I do will make it play the whole thing. If I go to the folder and click on it, it plays in itunes. Very frustrated.

It's working as it should. Only the G-DEC 3s play the band tracks through the amp unless you patch it into your Mustang through the CD/mp3 input from the speaker/headphone out on your computer.

bclarke675 must be a GDEC 3 user and unaware how to do this for Mustang amps.

While you can't save band tracks to the Mustang amps, you can assign band tracks to presets that reside on your computer.

The first thing to do is to click on the blue field in the upper left corner of fuse on the little icon that look like an amp (if your amp is connected) and choose the icon that looks like a laptop (see the screen cap below).

Then, as shown below, click on the button labeled "Band".

A screen will appear like the one below and you must click the radio button next to "MP3/WAV" after which a new field will appear with a drop down list box where you can choose the band track. Be sure to check the "Repeat" checkbox if you want the audio to loop indefinitely.

Once you've done this, click the "OK" button, then click "Start".

If you want to assign this band track to the preset, click the "Save" button (which will have turned red).

I just meant that the sound won't come through your Mustang. Sorry if I misled anyone.

This is the most informative post Thank s P90. Now it make sense. I thought my problem was the bank tracks I found were all for g-dec. No matter how many times I made sure I changed from g-dec to mustang.I gave up and got a couple of tracks from a on line guitar track. I just put them into a flash drive there ok. Regards Horton

Thanks p90sdude, that was quite helpful.

Is there a way in FUSE to tweak the volume of the band track (relative to the preset volume) while playing back on the Mustang?

I couldn't find anything obvious. In some combinations my guitar playing is completely lost and I'd like to lower the band track playback volume to compensate.

PITA

No volume control for the band track that I have found either. I have the same issue - some tracks overpower the guitar. My guess is that the feature wouldn't be that helpful for a G-DEC 3 user so, it's not there. But I could be wrong in assuming that.

The only workarounds I see are the obvious: 1. adjust the volume of the Windows Soundcard Mixer or 2. adjust each band track's volume by editing it in Audacity/Wavosaur/whatever.

The problem with workaround 1 is that if your monitoring the Mustang through the computer, your just moving the volume for both and not relative to each other since there is no adjustment for the USB audio in volume.

Workaround 2? Man, I got 100 band tracks !... Plus, I found that playback volume in FUSE seems to be attenuated some so, the tracks actually play louder in Media Player Classic, audio editors as well as in my DAW. Finding the right volume would be guess work.

Yeah a little volume slider under the "Band" section sure would be useful to us Mustang users. (wink, wink, nudge, nudge @ the FUSE development crew)

Thanks again--I was hoping I overlooked something.

Yeah, I had the same thought, this may be beyond the scope of FUSE's original design.

Another thing that worked for me is to add a compressor; interestingly enough, for the preset I was fiddling with, putting the compressor in front the amp barely helped, putting it in the rack was much better, but the best results came from adding my ME-25's compressor in the effects loop (which in some ways is good because it avoids having to fix presets that already sound good--but I didn't spend a lot of time trying to tell if/how much the sound changed as a result; I was more focused on trying to jam along with the track and hear myself).

Definitely got my vote!

Would it work if you lowered the volume using the controls for you sound card? Just an idea. I have a G-DEC 3, so I don't know how it works with a Mustang.
