I want the people who make presets in Fuse, information signs, including the type, style of music, in order to facilitate searches by genre.

It would be nice, thank you. :D

I give a note to each presets downloaded if the type is shown, otherwise, nothing.

I second this.
I love people that are creating them, but please take a few seconds to add some info about it. There are WAY to many presets that are just a name and no description whatsoever.
Thanks.

Yep - I started a similar thread a while ago.

Seems that many preset uploaders dont read the Forums.

Agree....way too many presets and not an easy way to delete. I am more interested in Band Tracks and backing tracks than Presets. Also, not an easy way to delete Presets, or edit.

Are you guys rating the presets you like or dislike?

I haven't used FUSE yet, but I've browsed the "community", and as far as I could see only 1 preset in 20 had been given a single user-submitted rating.

It would make it a lot easier to weed out the rubbish if I could see some with 5 stars against some that had been rated 0 or 1.

Yes most don't add details, genre, or style to the current uploaded selections and there's no way to edit once you've uploaded them. So it helps others to know if it's something they're even interested in downloading. As for the sorting of the ratings, you can do that in the search panels at the top of the preset page. I add descriptions and tags to mine in hopes that I set a good example, it help your ratings and no. of downloads also. My presets are under the user name Ro Rec /under Mustang amps.

I'm looking at the ratings now, sorted by "top-rated".

Most have only one or two ratings. That shows Fender have chosen a bad "best of" sorting algorithm - one rating shouldn't be enough to get a preset on the front page, and certainly not above a preset that has a dozen positive ratings. Fender have probably chosen to sort the presets using something like mean average, but that means that a preset that gets a single vote of 5 stars is rated higher than a preset that gets 10 votes of 5 stars and a single vote of 4 stars (average 54/11 = 4.9).

If there are any Fender guys reading: XKCD wrote a blog post on this a while back, and subsequently contributed code to Reddit's voting algorithm. Let me know if you want to discuss this further.

But this also means that you guys, the users who are complaining about these presets, aren't doing all you could, either. If you find a preset you love, rate it 5 stars and post a comment saying why. If a preset doesn't have any description, give it the lowest possible vote and leave a message in the comments saying why.

Stroller.

PS: Fender - it should not be necessary for me to give you my email address or log into the Fender FUSE community in order to view comments on a preset, or even to download it. Again, let me know if you'd like to discuss this further, otherwise I'll probably post a full rant separately in a few days time.
