I just bought a Mustang I amp and want to use it for both Bass and Six string practice! I know the amp is not designed specifically for Bass but I just bought a Bass and need to know if anyone on this forum are using a Mustang I for Bass!
If there are good presets available for bass I would appreciate any help in setting my amp up for this.
Thanks,
Fritz

My sister uses hers for Bass. She bought one after listening to mine but the guy at the
shop specifically told her ..never to use for bass.. not sure if he knows what he's saying
or maybe he does but i thought it was a good idea cause these do give off great bass and I know she loves playing with gadget effects.... so far she's had no problems but she hasn't jammed (that's prolly when the speakers blows on her) so be warned. Low volume is maybe its OK. I'm talking about the MII's though, just noticed you have MI in ur post.

Thanks for the comment. The guy at the store told me the same thing! I don't know why a Bass would destroy a speaker any faster than a six string! I hope some Fender guy will tell us and explain the thing in detail.
I fooled around this afternoon with some of the effects but I was using the headphones. I need to set up a clean preset so I can try to compare different effects! So far, I love this amp and will also use it with my six string.

I do. I can blow speakers easy just using large guitar strings. On my bass strings with the Amp cranked, I start doing what some cool bass players do. "slap" and "pluck" the phuck out of it lol ..trust me ..Amp speakers hate it ... only ones that hold up are my trusty EVMs, but they kill my back these days .. I'm an old man now lol

Long as you play with headphones and/or really low volume and dont got nutz on the pluck-like sounds, it "should" be OK - Besides, you'll smell the burn b4 the fire
Go ez on-it, especially w/ 8 inch speaker in there.

Just to give you guys a heads up, playing bass through your Mustang will most likely at least damage your speaker. Also, if anything gets damaged form playing bass it won't be covered under your warranty as that wouldn't be considered normal use.
