Sounds like the same problem I was having with my Mustang III - I had to bring it in for repair.

With a Mustang III, Device manager should see it as a 'Composite Device', mine said 'unknown device':

Hi Richard001,

This is a specific issue on the Mac side that we are addressing currently. The Windows driver arrangement is currently a bit different than on the Mac side.

I just got the Super Champ X2. Same problem. Had it working, come home today, turn it on, "no amp connected."
