Any tips for people who cant get Fuse to recognise the mustang in windows 7 Loren?

First start Fuse with the amp turned off, then log into Fuse then turn amp on.

Do you mean "log in" as in actually logging in to my account after fuse has started, or are you saying log in to fuse meaning just start the fuse software?

Try both if one does not work.

Well I've tried running fuse, which is why i know it says no amplifier connected and led me to come here.
Technically I'd need to do both to log in to my account using fuse itself anyway :D

But to be serious I get a feeling it might be a problem with a maybe a service in windows 7 that might be running (or not running) on this computer, as I have no problems with fuse and the mustang working together on a small netbook pc in windows 7 (I cant use this though as the resolution is too small and half the program gets hidden) and every other USB device I use with this computer works fine - so its just the mustang/this computer/fuse combination that doesnt work for some reason.

Slow down my friend. OK do this, unplug your Mustang USB from the PC. Go to ControlPanel>DeviceManager ; drop the arrow open for Sound, video game controllers then plug in the Mustang(powered-on) with the USB it should show up with the word 'Mustang' if it shows up as something else then RIGHT CLICK> UNINSTALL it. Then reboot. Open Fuse, reopen that section of the Control Panel and then plug the POWERED-ON Mustang back into the USB, it should then find it as the Mustang. Then repeat the above discussed steps to enable it.

Note: my Mustang USB port fails to connect at all with either a Mac or a PC with FUSE, except to do a firmware update. It fails to show up on system profiler in Mac OS X SNow Leopard, or on WIndoze 7 Ultimate 32 bit. So it is just possible that some Mustangs have a defective USB port. Mine is going in for service (probably replacement, since I don't see how the usual amp fixit guys are going to replace/repair a computer part).

Just FYI.

I have tried that in the past, no joy unfortunately. I have had it work with this notebook once or twice (as I managed to update the firmware), and am able to record with it as an ASIO device - its just fuse that has trouble recognising the amp.

Have you updated to IE8 ..that could help Fuse.

I had IE8 as standard with Windows 7, and recently tried the IE9 Beta but it didnt make any difference.

I would also suggest contacting us directly. If you could send us an email containing your exact system specs that would be helpful. We may also want to see some system logs from you. Those can be a big help sometimes. We'll tell you where to find them.

I've just found the sent message, I sent it on the 1st. This is what it said:

Hi there,

I'm having some problems with the fuse software and am wondering if you can help?
When I start fender fuse up it doesnt seem to recognise the amplifier and says "No Amplifier Connected" in the bottom left of the screen.

My system is as follows:
Fender Mustang I
Windows 7 Professional 64bit
4Gb RAM
2.25Ghz Intel i5
I have the latest silverlight, .NET, adobe flash and internet explorer installed - I have even uninstalled these and Fuse then reinstalled them all.
I have updated all my drivers.

I have even tried running both FUSELauncher.exe and FUSEServer.exe in a varierty of different compatibility settings and nothing has worked.

Kind regards,

Gareth

I was wondering if you ever found a solution to your problem GarethJB84. Loren, if you're aware of a solution or the response he was given, it would be very helpful! I seem to be in the same situation.

FUSE is not detecting my Mustang 1 Amplifier. I have the most recent software version, and I've tried multiple USB ports. The only difference with Gareth and I would be that I am having this issue on a Mac.

Thanks!

Hi calebmaitland,

I am now the active moderator on this discussion. So, in regard to the issue you are seeing, the first suggestion would be to delete the kext driver files (Mac only). You can locate these in System\Library\Extensions (Macintosh HD drive). You will see (6) Fender drivers there. Move them all to the trash and empty the trash.

Restart your Mac. From there, re-install the Fender FUSE installer package. Restart. Launch Fender FUSE and see if the behavior is corrected. If it is not, please contact me at the email below, and I can offer some additional assistance that way. Thanks.
