I was trying these amps side by side....I think the mustang is more muddy because of the bigger speaker and the bugger cabinet...so will try putting a pillow in there and see if it helps...I guess they wanted to emulate really old amps that have no tightness....and thats why it maybe sounds better through the headphones, as there is no muddyness or looseness...running into the guitar in (so I could use the b m t) sounded better than running into the line in which cancels out the b m t etc....

Oh man...well these tube amps in the shops Ive been playing, were not much better...if you want tightness, use the headphone to record...

driving me mad :)

Well being a solid Oak cabinet..its probably going to sound a little different (j/k)
Whenever I go to pick up this wizard speaker.. I'm going to try it with the MS
II for something to do...now i'm curious...only thing...I'm pretty sure MS II's have
3 wires coming of the speaker... and I'm not sure why or if i'll be able to hook up
a reg. 2 prong speaker (I know nuffin bout' speakers btw) ... but i'll try it somehow.

Lemme know if pillow tightens up the mud :D if thats all it takes then great!!

Hey

it looks like the wood is made of the same stuff...chipboard I think you call it..the compressed wood...or something similar...

The Pillow did some difference to the sound..I used just a big piece of material rolled up....hey send me your email and I'll send you the pics of both amps...I think it's got 3 wires yes...BUT it looks like 2 for the speaker and one ground....

there are 3 connected to the back panel for the electricity plug...

So it still sounded not so great tho eh ... Well, speaker upgrades aren't so bad an idea ..its just a matter of picking out the rite one...I missed pickup up the Wizard
speaker today ..it was closed...due to Xmas Eve...but I'm going to for sure try
it over the holidays...If you've ever heard the Hugh & Kettner German AMPs ...they
all use Eminence The Wizard speakers ..so after listening to all Eminences, I fell
in love with the Wizard as well...super chimey highs, clean with not much bass
but a tight bottom end. I'll test it out ..but this ones for my Tube AMP..so I'll
order another for the Mustang II is it sounds well enough :)

Yeah the nux magnet is bigger....does that make a difference in the sound or quality...I think the mustang speakers must be soo cheap and nasty...Ide like to hear one in oerson that sounds as good as their demos on youtube

dont know what the wired are for.,...I guess live and neutral and ground...

They prolly had a 20lb Black Label EVM 12L in the Youtube vids ... who knows .... I'm joking .. (but, I think these could use an upgraded speaker of some sort)...yeah the magnet is small which is great for my back...thats one of the reasons I bought the 40 watt AMP was its weight, something new to me...im use to 2x12 that weighed atleast 50-60 lbs...it was fine when i was younger...dont even know how i did it then lol)... but
i find more expensive speakers use big honking magnets ..sure they improve response..but they will kill ya less ur young or the incredible hulk .. They have some neo speakers and some high-end speakers with smaller magnets..but i dont care for sound of them ..that y i got the mustang lol ..no but ..I love its sound ..but i could sorta see a better supported speaker improving it ..like when i play on volume 1-2 it sounds perfect ..but when i start to go up to 5-6 i can tell the speaker clips a bit when i really pluck the damn strings...doesnt bother alot ..the amps killer regardless...but if that all it takes is a speaker upgrade to make it sound like GOD ..u know

Jus I dont know how to frig with the 3 wires coming of it yet... but i think a perfect match would be either Govenor or Wizard by eminence...i'd say Wizard since it has tighter bottom...but who knows ..Governor might sound even better (more bass) .. I'd love to use the Lil Texas w/ 4oz magnet ..its still in the red coat series ..but it sounds not as good to me as wizard does..(i just dont want the front plate ripping off the amp ecuz weight of a magnet lol) Patriot is Eminence's other higher end brand but i dont like none of them personally.. Actually what i'd love to try is this AMP thru a 2x15 cab..with a
Jensen C15N and a Eminence Legend 1518....like that'd ever happen tho :) ..rambling here ..lol

I don't have a Mustang, but have done it with my Vox. I just put the insulation in a pillowcase. Also, if you haven't upgraded your firmware to ver. 1.6, do so immediately. There are lots of reports of better tone after this simple upgrade. :D

Yes v. much so for me
