Sorry... I'm clueless with all that... but I managed to use this...small
and easy..Note: ..I think this is just a Ableton-like clone ... nothing
like Amplitue.

Hi lordhusky,

AmpliTube Fender LE is an amp modeling software that includes some additional Fender amp models. It is useful as a standalone application for rehearsal/practice, and includes a metronome. You can bring audio files into the app., and play along as well. In plugin mode, as when using it with DAWs such as Ableton Live Lite Fender Edition, you can use the models or effects in it as a plugin for audio tracks.

In regard to getting the amp connected to it, you would go to Settings/Audio Setup and select ASIO as the driver type, and select Mustang as the input device. You will need to use your built-in audio device or other Third Party device to output audio as the Fender Mustang is a one way device.

Best Regards,

I've just purchased the Mustang II, and I already use Amplitube. I bought this amp with the intention of using it as an input device for Amplitube. I have the ASIO driver installed, and I'm getting signal from the amp, but it appears to be only the wet signal. So I'm using amp emulation on the PC on top of the emulation on the amp. The end result is pretty noisy and sort of defeats the purpose. How do I get a dry signal via USB. Is this an oversight, or am I doing something wrong?

Hey stlwine,

Welcome to the Fender forums. Since the Mustang II is a modeling amp there really isn't a way to bypass the modeling. The best way to use your Mustang with AmpliTube is to dial in a clean amp model with no effects. Try the 65 Twin Reverb and turn off any effects.

Loren, thanks for responding. In all fairness, this seems pretty counter-intuitive. I had assumed when buying an amp packaged with a version of Amplitube that the two would work fairly seamlessly together. If it's not possible to create an additional clean ASIO out, might I suggest adding a feature to your Fuse software to bypass the modeled pre-amp altogether... in the same way I can turn off the cabinet simulation. This seems like a fix that could be implemented quickly.

I totally agree here.....I have Amplitube Metal and love it. I fired up Reaper to try recording some tracks with it assuming the Mustang would act as the USB interface, and was shocked when I found there was no option to select no amp or to bypass the modeling. I mean for all intensive purposes it is a USB device and can be routed accordingly, but no option to bypass the amps/cabs is nuts.

Please Fender fix this is a future update of Fuse! I love my amp, but the recording quality via USB and the headphone out is not the greatest. I tried and tried and tried to get a decent tone and finally decided I would go back to Amplitube.....but I sold my other USB interface as I assumed this amp would do the trick. Now I am really disappointed.

I took the advice and used the 65 Reverb amp model, and it does seem to work fine without coloring the sound. I find my with PC that increasing the buffer size helped recording quality by reducing glitches. Same can be said for the recording quality of the amp modelling form the amp directly for the Mustang itself. Of course every setup is different....but it is working fine for me now. No latency issues.

If you are going to use Amplitude and want a dry signal from the guitar, then why not just skip using the amp in between, and just use your normal USB interface instead?

I do that quite a bit, except on parts where I want the Mustang amp sound recorded.

Fairly simple.

I think the point was that the Mustang comes with Amplitube and is a USB interface so people (myself included) didn't expect to have to buy another USB interface in order to use the software that comes with the amp.

I still think you guys are missing the point. AmpliTube is a separate VST plug-in could be used with the Ableton Live Lite DAW. I'm assuming that Fender added both softwares to give musicians a chance to experience recording.

I have a Mustang I, and I have a Cakewalk (Edirol) UA-4FX external USB audio capture device http://www.rolandus.com/products/productdetails.php?ProductId=758.

The UA-4FX's audio send & receive block diagram, differs greatly from the Mustang's USB architecture. The Mustang's designers would have to add other features to make it cross-platform compatible, this would have added to the cost of the amp.

I posted a tutorial in the Mustang forum http://www.fender.com/community/forums/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=62673 on settiing a Mustang amp, and AmpliTube for recording.

Hey Guys,

We decided to include AmpliTube Fender LE at no cost because lots of guitarist are unaware that such software exists. It's only meant to introduce you to the world of software modeling. We think the Mustang/G-DEC 3/AmpliTube Fender LE combo does a great job of doing that. If you want to go deeper, you can purchase the full version and a dedicated audio/guitar interface. If not, you haven't lost out on anything.
