Hello everybody, I just received my Mustang I amp yesterday and I loved it from the start ! I installed the FUSE application (2.0.1) right now, but I can´t get it to work :(

When I start the software, I receive an error message "FUSELauncher has detected a problem and will shut down. If you have not saved your work, it may be lost" (freely translated from the original german error message)

I tried all the standard procedures ... restart, reinstall, shut-down my anti virus tool during installation etc. but it does not work - any ideas ?

I´m running a standard Windows XP system with SP3, IE7 and the latest version of MS "Silverlight". I also de- and reinstalled "Silverlight", no change in behaviour :(
The amp was not connected during any installation process, if this may an important information.

Search the forum for "IE7" it might pertain to this exact prob. you are having. Short answer ..upgrade IE7 to IE8 if possible ..else check if Flash is installed for the browser ... I think Fuse uses Flash .. Anyhow withing the First five topics of the search you should find some definite answers i think.

I updated each and everything several times .... .NET, Flash, IE8, Silverlight ... with countless reboots but nothings seems to work :(
I installed the software on three different devices, all standard Windows XP with SP3, now IE8, newest Flash, Silverlight and full installation of .NET 4.0

stationary PC: please see error message from my previous posting

Laptop 1: FUSE is starting, but it always tells me "Amp not connected" I de- and reinstalled all components several times, changed the USB cable, deinstalled all anti-virus software, shut down the firewall etc. -> not working !

Laptop 2: same error message as my stationary PC

Wonderful software, this really made my sunday :( After several hours of frustration I give up.

Anybody with some helpful advices ?

Thanks for your understanding, maybe it has something to do with the german version of FUSE, containing some bugs, not present in the englisch version. I will contact Loren from Fender as you suggested, thanks for your help !

Hi Doc Holiday,

Welcome to the Fender forums. I'm sorry your first posts here are because of an issue you're experiencing with Fender FUSE. I find it very strange that you're having issues with 3 XP machines. We don't usually have too many issues on XP boxes. Are all of your machines cloned from the same image? Are they the same model of computer? You may want to contact us directly. Also, we have lots of users with German, Finnish, French, and other language localized versions of XP running just fine. I don't suspect that's the problem.

Loren

Hi Loren,

thanks for contacting me. All three machines are installed individually, not cloned, no virtual machines and not the same image. They are completely different hardware as well, one is a normal, stationary PC, two of them are Laptop machines (one Acer, one Toshiba). I´m out of town this week, I will contact you directly when I´m back on Friday. I really would love to get FUSE up and running on at least one machine, the amp is really great sounding and I want to fine-tune the presets.

Hi Jay,

Actually, Doc isn't experiencing the stuck "Loading. Please Wait" screen. It appears to be another issue.

Oh, OK Loren. I didn't realize you've been monitoring these forums! There are numerous comments in the "Loading...Still Waiting" section that you haven't responded to...

Especially..."when do you expect this to be resolved...2010, 2011 or 2012?"

At least it's software problems, and not amp problems, which other manufacturers still haven't solved with their modeling amps (re: Peavey).

Loren, is there a FUSE logfile ? Maybe this will help to trace the error.

Jaydv, I`m close to agree - I also never had a software like FUSE, with such an enormous potential of trouble, and from the bottom of my heart I´m not willing to reconfigure my whole, well running OP system only to make a single software happy. I feel your frustration, and I also spend almost a complete day only to find out, that FUSE is not working on three different machines :( But as bcclarke675 said, it´s "only" a software problem, the Mustang is a very good sounding amp by itself and it will get us nowhere, to blame on the software, Fender, the software developers etc. Let´s keep the price of the package in mind, and I think it´s really great, that Loren offered help directly from Fender ... this is more than I expected (always keeping the price in mind !) and hopefully I will be able to get FUSE up and running on at least one machine. I will keep you updated - no surrender !!! 8)

There are log files. We'd like to see those if you're able to send them to us. Send me an email and I'll give you the instructions on how to get them to us. Thanks again for your patience.

Loren
