Why am I not able to just stack stompboxes in front (input side) of the amp model like I would normally do in my setup?

For example: Fixed Wah > Simple Comp > Fuzz

The FUSE software seems to force multiple effects to the output loop side of the amp. For me, this is not a "real world" scenario. Just curious.

Hi Timbo Strat,

I'm not sure what you mean regarding the position of the effects. Each effect can be placed before or after the amplifier. Are you referring to the fact that you can't arrange the effects in a certain order?

I guess what I am saying is that the software is not letting me add two pedals of the same type on the input (left) side of the amp. It allows me to add one of each genre (stomp, modulation, delay and reverb) but not two stompboxes or two modulation pedals, etc. When I attempt to do that it just moves the existing pedal to a different slot on the input side. If I want to achieve this, I have to add the second like effect to the output loop (right) side of the configuration. Certainly no biggie!

Okay I understand. Unfortunately the G-DEC 3 in it's current state wasn't designed to do that. Maybe one day it will be possible to stack two of the same effects before or after the amp.

I should have looked more closely in the manual. It states:

"You can have a total of up to four effects active at any
time, but you can have only one of each "category" active
at a time. For example, you can have a reverb effect either
before or after the amplifier, but not both."

Duh. My bad.

By the way (and for what it's worth) this software and the Mustang II in general are lights out. I'm having more freakin' fun with this stuff than I would have ever imagined.

Props to Loren and all of the fine folks at Fender!
