Hmmmm...I had no problems installing and running Fuse on my HP laptop running Vista. Not the most convienient set-up for me at the moment, but am enjoying Fuse so much right now that I haven't got around to getting it to work on my studio desktop.
However, I'm thinking it does have something to do with .NET 1.0 & 2.0 Framework. My laptop does not seem to have 1 or 2.0 installed, but my desktop does, and will not allow me to get rid of it because programs are using it.
Does anyone know how to check what programs might be using 1.0 & 2.0 so that I can try to fix this problem. I've tried so many different things!

Have you tried booting up the computer in safe mode and deleting the .Net from there?
Also look into CCleaner it's free and helps with computer housekeeping.

You might try this to get .NET uninstalled. http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/08/28/8904493.aspx

Thanks CSprague and pictoratus for the suggestions. I'm going to try these as soon as things get back to normal after all of the New Year's haze wears off!

I just installed FUSE 2.1.0.8 and still the FUSE application hangs on Loading. Please Wait...

I have unistalled and reinstalled .NET and Silverlight. Additionally, uninstalled FUSE and reinstalled several times.

My laptop runs Win XP SP3 with 512 mb RAM. I am thinking that I might be running out of memory and the app hangs (just a guess).

Any other ideas out there?

BTW, the Mustang-I is a very cool little amp.

Thanks!

JW, you could be running of of memory cause I was using 1 Gb ram and a Celeron processor and it barely made it into Fuse ...but since I upgraded to this T7500 processor and 2 Gb memory for $75 ...everything runs a lot better ... I can have Fuse open without melting my legs off, laptop runs super cool now...If you do upgrade it ..use Arctic Silver 5 or whatever its called.. and I'll bet Fuse will start working ..least with
a memory upgrade..I'd say 1 Gb at least is needed.

Hi guys!
I got my Mustang 1 today and suffered the same probs to get fuse software running. :(
BUT
I managed to solve the problem by doing the things suggested in the previous threads (updating IE8, SP3 and Framework 3.5; I ran XP with SP2 before, what didn't help) ...
AND
...checked the security preferences for the IE8. When I activated the ActiveX-options which are usally deactivated (because it's not safety to have them activated)
the Fuse software started and I was able to update my amp and get a look on this really nice piece of software :D

It's 4:51 am where I live now and I really hope it helps someone!

Good luck everybody

OK, finally got Fuse working - no more splash screen hangs!

I downloaded the new version 2.1.0 and then I deleted all versions of .NET using the .NET cleanup tool (link as per earlier email), and Silverlight and Fuse. I then re-installed Fuse - this installs .NET 3.5 SP1 and 2.0 SP2 and 3.0 SP2 afresh along with Silverlight. I then ran Silverlight and ticked the 'Enable application storage' button in the Application Storage tab - this seems to be critical for some reason, so I don't know why it's not installed with that as the default! To be honest I'm not sure whether I needed to do the .NET removal stage, but it doesn't do any harm.

Hope this might help others of you out there having the same problem.

Without going through all 7 pages, at the risk of repetition, I think most of the FUSE problems are the same that you would see in any multimedia application. It is very visually high-ended so a good video card is a must, the Silverlight setting have to do with temp files and storage until you Save.
Thinks of it like a video editor or Garage Band.
Just like you wouldn't play a high-end game without a fast processor and good video, plus a lot of memory, you won't get FUSE to run on a basic system.
I'm running 4 cores with 2 gig of memory and a fast drive, plus 1 gig of video and it still takes a bit to load everything.
I have a friend with an Uber Mac (8 cores, 16 gig of memory, etc.) who does weather modeling - we're going to load it and see how fast it might run.

Fender probably should "up" the minimum requirements or create a "light" version - maybe just the preset editor - to run on smaller systems.

Since October, 2010, the Fender staff has been stating that they've been working with Microsoft and Silverlight to identify the problem and develop a fix. In the meantime, the customers (us!) continue to go around and around in circles!

Note to Loren...What's the progress to date? Any word on when you'll get this resolved?

Same issue here, very disaapointing. I love the new mustang 3 and had 2 others that spend tons of money on amps. They love this little amp. But as a customer rep I can't fully give the go ahead now due to this issue. I use this cpu for recording ,full duplex able to use 1/4 jacks multiple programs all the time, and never get hung up. Tried all suggestions

Hey Guys,

We've been doing pretty much everything we can regarding this problem. Although this issue is only affecting a very small percentage of users, we are still taking it very seriously. Please keep in mind that neither we in the TSL or any of our numerous beta testers have ever been able to reproduce this issue. That makes it extremely difficult to even find out what is causing the problem. I know some of you have been waiting for a fix for quite some time now. We really appreciate your patience. We have made some progress in this area and have even gotten some users' systems running. If you haven't contacted us directly regarding this issue, I suggest you send us an email containing your system specs. We'll see what we can do to get you running.

Saransk - This issue doesn't appear to be related to certain system components. Early on, that was one of our theories. However, many of our users have six or seven year old systems that are running Fender FUSE without problems. It's not really as graphic or processor intensive as it may seem.

Jay - I was beginning to think that you gave up on us. I'll send you an email in a bit with some information that may help.
