bclarke,

Thanks again for your comments. Just wondering...as long as you agree that the product doesn't work as advertised, would YOU like to refund the money I paid for this?

I don't agree that the product doesn't work as advertised...just the software, which is being worked on, and I saw that a firmware version update was done for the Mustangs, which did address an actual product issue. It seems that you ARE just trying to stir trouble...no name calling will be done.

Throwing in my own 2 cents...I am running windows xp, and since I brought my MII home Nov 29 I have not had one single problem with the software. I just read this seems to be true for all xp operating systems.

Sooo, the bottom line is the problems some are encountering can not really be attributable ENTIRELY to Fender. Computers are a tough bunch of animals to keep under control, and this is a good example of that.

So please be patient and everything should turn out ok soon; Fender is an excellent company! And no, I don't work for them...but I do have a love/hate relationship with computers ( especially in the area of arcane nuances of software...like I'm sure many of you have also). :)

Merry Christmas!

PS The MII is a killer amp -- no bones about it!

Exactly... Sometimes all it takes is wiping the computer clean, than doing a fresh re-install of Windows. We all know Windows is notorious when it comes to nasty viruses, worms, trojans, rootkits, dialers, spyware, and malware - not to mention power outages
can cripple data drivers, etc.

Hope yous get your AMP/Software working soon - as I'm happy with the way mines been running as well.

So this update that should fix 'please wait' issue is not FUSE 2.0.1.501, right? Because it doesn't work for me.
Sorry if I missed something, but I just got a mustang and downloaded latest fuse but it doesn't work on my XP SP3. Tried everything that was mentioned here, even tried to disable firewall although I can't imagine how could firewall mess fuse up.

Not sure about that ... if it fixed the loading... but you say you've tried everything ...including the browser update... Requires IE 7 or better.....

ok, I got it working this time.
After fuse installed correctly on an old winXP sp3 virtualbox machine (except the fact that USB is not working on virtualbox OSE edition under Linux :) I tried to clean up my 'real' XP box and give fuse another try (8th I think :)
I simply uninstalled some apps, not sure which one did the trick, but here's the complete list:
-fuse
-Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile (dunno what installed this)
-Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Extended (this either)
-Silverlight
-Quest SQL Optimizer for Oracle (I don't need it anymore, )
-Royal TS
-Putty connection manager (will reinstall it later, started to act funny lately, might be related to .net-something issues)
-SSH Tectia Client
-VMware vSphere Client 4.0

Couldn't deinstall .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 and .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 2 because some other apps were depending on them but turns out it is not necessary anyway.

After a reboot I installed fuse and this time IT'S ALIVE :!: hooray :D

just got my Mustang II today, and I am still excited and happy about it, even though I am joining the ranks of the guys stuck on the Fuse issue.
Words to the wise, let the Fender guys find the issue, they will find a fix eventually. Meantime, there is a lot to do with the stock options and the Amplitube and Ableton stuff.. I would recommend to go back to playing and leave these guys do their work

Here is my report for the Fender troubleshooting folks:

Windows XP / HP Notebook
Old IE6
No silverlight
MS .Net 3.5

Performed an out of the box installation, got the 'Loading...please wait' message, which brought me to this thread after some web search. Read the thread, tried this:

Installed IE 8
Uninstalled Silverlight
Uninstalled Fuse
Rebooted

Then,

Installed Fuse again...asked for Silverlight, which then proceed to install itself
Meantime, the Fuse installer gave a 'failed installation' message, no biggie, this is ok
Attempted the reinstall of Fuse, this time it went through

Started Fuse, it started to work, recognized my amp, indicated outdated firmware, gave me very clever instructions on how to proceed, firmware was updated successfully, then...

A new error message appeared...an unknown error was found, the screen shows a dimmed bassman amp in the background, closing the error message, closes the app...

Now, I went to the control app/ event viewer cleared every message and tried again... there is no new event coming there, except an entry on system:

"Event Type: Information
Event Source: Application Popup
Event Category: None
Event ID: 26
Date: 12/27/2010
Time: 10:19:09 PM
User: N/A
Computer: xxxxxxx
Description:
Application popup: Visual Studio Just-In-Time Debugger : An unhandled win32 exception occurred in FUSEServer.exe [2432]. Just-In-Time debugging this exception failed with the following error: No installed debugger has Just-In-Time debugging enabled. In Visual Studio, Just-In-Time debugging can be enabled from Tools/Options/Debugging/Just-In-Time.

Check the documentation index for 'Just-in-time debugging, errors' for more information.

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
"

I know it does not say anything new, but I thought you would be interested. The debugger is not relevant, but the unhandled exception might be. May want to revisit that error catching mechanisms down there in the codebase...

I will keep trying the unistall/install game, see if I get something new...btw, yep, Im also on IT and I am totally with you guys,....just ...find...a ...cure... :)

Quick update!
I tried unplugging the amp from the computer, and FUSE starts ok! no problem!
Then, when plugging the amp back, the screen goes dimmed and the error message appears again.
Anybody else on this stage?

Apologies if you feel I am hijacking the thread. Just wanted to let you all know that I have installed Fuse on a Windows 7 notebook and it works like a charm. Installation was flawless, the amp was recognized right away and I have spent the past hour downloading and using the community presets. Hopefully you all get a fix soon
Thanks

I wonder if it has something to do with Hi-speed USB-2.0 vs older USB-1.0 ... This seems to be effecting XP users, but Fender says they use mostly just XP boxes in there Labs, but most likely w/ newer hardware like USB-2.0 or even 3.0 ...

Usually its backwards compatible with 1.0...but being audio over USB...its getting in jam (bottleneck) perhaps with earlier USB-1.0 boxes. Just a thought.

I received my Mustang I for Christmas, and really love it. But, I have joined the ranks of those who cannot get Fuse to work. After finally getting around to installing the software on my computer last night, I was disappointed to see the "Loading. Please Wait" message.

I am running a Dell XPS machine, running XP with SP 3, and using IE8. I updated everything as per the suggestions in this thread, uninstalled and reinstalled Silverlight, and Fuse several times. Tried disabling the firewall, and virus software. Reboot, and reboot again. Basically, the whole nine yards.

I guess I will have to keep trying other things, until a fix is available.

Does windows have GDB program for checking over symbols within a .exe binary ?
If the FUSEServer.exe isin't stripped of the symbols.. Line [2432] should hold some
better clues about this if Fender or myself can mimic this ERROR but i know nothing
about Windows ..does it use Visual or something for programming ? is it FREE to use
and is there a debugger available...if so..One of yous who are having this problem might want to install the "whatever its called suite" and test the latest binary against GDB or whatever its called in Winblos.

Nice guitar King! Stray Cats!

seems that silverlight and/or fuse are very picky about other stuff that is installed on XP.
Silverlight depends on .NET and IE so at least those two should be...clean. As it was mentioned before try to deinstall all .net frameworks that can be removed.
Also try to deinstall or disable various IE plugins like yahoo, google or skype toolbars because they are known to crash some web based applications (Oracle java based apps for example)
