Hello snorrevonflake,

Welcome to the Fender Forums. I'm sorry you're having issues with Fender FUSE. Fortunately, we are here to help. Can you please start by telling me the exact behavior you're experiencing? When you launch the app do you get a stuck splash screen that says "Loading. Please Wait..." or does the app load but it reads "please wait" in the lower left hand corner? We have seen both types of behavior. The resolutions for each are different.

Also, what are your system specs (OS, CPU, Ram)? If you'd like you can contact us directly with that information.

Thanks,
Loren

Loren,

This is my first post on here so I hope that I've gotten to the right place. I, too, am having a problem opening Fender FUSE. It worked just fine when I first installed it from the CD with my new GDEC 30. It always opened until I tried again a few days ago when I bought a Classic Vibe guitar. Now when I click on the icon on my desktop, nothing happens. I mean NOTHING. FUSE doesn't even attempt to start. I reinstalled FUSE but nothing happens.

I've read all of the problems from others and suggestions from you and none of it makes any difference. Keep in mind that FUSE did work up until now.

Your say that your "best bet is to contact us directly". Please tell me just how the hell I do that when the Customer Support link on Fender's webpage is as dead as the FUSE program is! Believe me, I've tried over and over. Dead, nothing! I've contacted Fender before by e-mail and had no problem (by the way, got a very quick response). Now the link is dead so e-mail contact is impossible and this is not improving my mood about Fender.

Being an older person with 40+ years with Fender products, I'm not new to them. I've always had the greatest respect and appreciation for Fender products, as millions of others have. But the problems with this FUSE program and the dead e-mail link to contact Fender "directly" and the non-workable advice from you on this forum are driving that respect and appreciation right into the ground. Two days ago I purchased a new Classic Vibe guitar and the bridge pick-up has no volume. Another damn problem that I never had before with any Fender product.

Please tell me how I can contact Fender by e-mail when the Customer Support e-mail link is DEAD. It does the exact same thing as the FUSE program - nothing! I can't get the FUSE program to load - or even start - and I'm blocked from contacting Fender by e-mail to try to find a fix for this problem that's making me increasingly angry by the day.

I'll keep checking this forum for an answer and I certainly hope that I get an actual, practical working answer. None of the myriad suggestions on here have done anything to solve the problem so please don't reiterate the same answers. I need a real working answer! It's extremely angering when you say that the best bet is to contact Fender directly and then when I try to the damn contact link is as dead as a fish out of water. What is going on here? As I mentioned, I've had the greatest respect for Fender products but this nonsense is destroying that and I don't want to lose that. Let's not let this happen, OK?

A response, please. Very soon. Before I run out of patience.

Thank you.

Hey Roger,

I apologize for the issues you're having. Have you taken a look at the sticky at the top of this forum?

I wish there was a magic bullet that would fix any and all FUSE software issues. Unfortunately there isn't. That's why it's best for you to contact us directly. You can use the contact info that is in my sig on every one of my forum posts. You could also take a look at my previous post, which you quoted. There is contact information there as well. I"ll also post our contact info here:

You can reach us by phone at 480-596-7195 or at TSL@Fender.com. We look forward to hearing from you.

I've been patiently providing error logs to Fender Support (Alan) for more than 2 weeks with a failed FUSE installation on W7 64 bit Home Premium. The latest and greatest research from the "lab" is a suggestion to do the already tried and failed numerous times "create new admin user" work around.

This is the largest forum topic.

C'mon Fender -- this is an old recurring problem (for whatever various reasons for a few customers) -- dig in your pocket and spend the money to create a patch. Or, stop riding the back of Internet Explorer and create a stand alone software. According to what I've read in numerous places, FireFox downloads custom amp profiles just fine.

Whatever, for me, the one on one customer support is not successful.

I'm going to to Amazon with this unresolved FUSE.Fender.com problem with the marketed "expanded features" for my newly purchased Mustang III.

Hi gonzodave,

I understand that you are very frustrated with the issues you are encountering with the Fender FUSE software on your computer. The Fender Mustang III amplifier in-fact does not require Fender FUSE software to operate for any reason other than importing new Presets from the Fender FUSE Community. All other functions are available on the amp itself. I realize that you are unhappy with the current situation where Fender FUSE will not function properly on your PC. And I have done all that I can here to assist.

After reviewing the Event Viewer log from your PC that you sent in recently, our Software team is reporting that they see some serious issues occurring with your current Windows install. Our best suggestion at this point is to utilize the Fender FUSE software on either a fresh install of Windows 7 (second hard drive or new partition, etc.) or use it on a second PC. There are certain issues that we encounter on user computers that cannot be worked around. Unfortunately, this is one of those cases. Please consider one of the options suggested above.

Best Regards,

Hey gonzodave, since they are pointing to a bad installation of Windows 7, I was wondering ... did anyone tell you to try System File Checker (SFC.exe)?

Use the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) to determine which file is causing the issue, and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow.
Type the following command, and then press ENTER:

sfc /scannow

The sfc /scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions.

These directions are for Windows 7

Just bought a Mustand 2 v2 last Wed. Due to real life didn't try Fuse until Friday night and got the dreaded "loading please wait" screen. Searched and found this thread (and read it all looking for any hints on what might work) with no activity since May so wanted to let Fender and other new users know this can and does still occur. Here is an overview of what I have done with no luck in getting fuse to run.

Running Dell Inspiron 518, Vista Home Premium 64 bit, 4 mb ram, plenty of disk space, IE 9, Silverlight with everything up to date.

I went through the trouble shooting steps provided here http://support.fender.com/TSL/TSL%20Sup ... s_V3.2.pdf

Uninstalled fuse and silverlight.
Checked windows update, all was up to date including IE9.
Reinstalled fuse and silverlight.

Created a new user with admin authority. This did not work and when I went back to my normal\only user account my desktop icons were all screwed up adding insult to injury. Could be worse just ticked me off but I'm over it:)

Ran the batch file with no luck. It did not even create a dir.txt file in the fuse folder. I did find a dir.txt file in the system 32 folder using a windows search. Don't know it the fuse batch put that there of if it was from something else?

Firefox is my normal default browser. Silverlight shows up as an add on and is enabled. Switched default to IE9 in hopes that would fix things, no dice. Funny thing is I went to try the fix of making sure Silverlight was enabled in IE9 under Tools/Manage Add-ons and it is not even in the list. Yes, Silverlight is on the computer, I can open it just fine from the start menu, is shows up in firefox, and netflix is having no problems using it to show movies.

In the end I believe I have done everything on the trouble shooting list with out getting Fuse to run. I did send an email to TSL with the files they request and plan on following up with a phone call Monday afternoon central time. I understand these things happen but I am really frustrated by this whole situation. I'm really hoping the phone call can get it solved quickly as I am not looking forward to a weeks long email correspondence of "hit and miss" attempts at trying to find out what is causing my issue.

I will do what is necessary though to get it going. Again, I do understand this is the nature of software and the many configurations out there and I do appreciate that Fender support is there to help. I am just plain frustrated right now.

Thanks. I did call in to tech support Monday afternoon and had a nice conversation with your tech staff. Very helpful and patient and even though we didn't get Fuse to run (at least not yet) it was a good experience. The tech has sent my files to your computer people and is hopeful we will find a solution in the next few days.

Thanks again.
