Got my Mustang 3 last week after reading a (very good) review in the current Guitarist magazine....so far, so good.
Decided to load Fender Fuse from the CD/DVD....er no....you won't.
Instead of the software being on the disc, it directs you to download the current version from the Fender site. I thought that a bit curious at the time....
The rest you can guess...the dreaded "Loading, please wait..." screen.
Hmmmm....what have I done wrong?
Checked minimum PC requirements - all OK there. XP SP3, more than enough RAM, etc.
Had allowed Silverlight to install from the downloaded Fuse software...so no problems there either, presumably....
Hang on, though....Just before the installation supposedly completes, there's a warning that if your amp's connected, reboot it....
Eh?
When did the "instructions" - such as they are - say to connect it?
As a result, I uninstalled both Fuse and Silverlight before re-installing both, this time with the amp connected.
"Loading....please wait....."
It was at this time That I googled "Fender Fuse Loading please wait...." and lo and behold, found that I wasn't alone!
I've read through the 12 forum pages....I've tried various suggestions, against my better judgement.
Uninstalling earlier version .NETs? NOT a good idea - MS admit that later versions do not necessarily supercede earlier versions...in other words, you risk other applications failing to run in the future.
Edit the registry in order to totally clear out previous attempts to run Fuse? Er....again, not a good idea, unless you know what you're doing....
Downed Silverlight from the official MS site, just in case....checked I had the latest versions of everything required...no problems.
Uninstalled again, and re-installed.....
"Loading...please wait...."
What a load of junk!

Well, that's another few hours wasted, installing/deleting and reinstalling, and still no joy.
I give up.
I'll just have to settle for the "un-Fused" amp, I guess.
A very disappointing experience.......

Hey Jack,

It sounds to me by some of your remarks that this obviously is not you first day with a computer so, don't take this as though I am talking down to you. I just want to relate some things that you may not know. I didn't read the 12 pages of this post so, I don't know if this has been covered but here are my experiences.

1. Make sure you have the latest version of Internet Explorer installed.

2. If you have installed the Silverlight through "Automatic Updates", un-install it. Fender support says that the update is compatible with FUSE - this is not my experience. Use the Silverlight that comes with FUSE and don't allow Windows to update it.

Yes, it is a good idea to clean the registry after un-installing. this can be dangerous if you do it by hand but I have been using a free utility named Eusing Registry Cleaner for years and it has never messed up my computer. you also have the option to backup the registry before cleaning.

Before using the reg cleaner, make sure that the FUSE (Fender) installation folder has been deleted and any previous versions of Silverlight un-installed.

3. You don't need the amp connected to the computer during installation. It just tells you that in the case the the amp was connected, you would need to cycle it off then on before FUSE will recognize it. Lots of people have tested out FUSE before even owning a GDEC or Mustang amp.

4. It generally takes FUSE 50 seconds to load on my desktop computer when I load it up for the first time in a day and 20-25 seconds there after. Although FUSE is pretty amazing at what it allows you to do with Fender amps, it is not what you would call robust by any means. Make sure your being patient enough, it might take some time to load especially on a laptop.

"Talk down" to me by all means!
If it means that I get this software up-and-runnng, you can say what you like!

Had to smile at your suggestion of using only the downloaded Fuse (with ancilliary bits) rather than downing Silverlight from the official MS source - that's where I'd started!
(God - it seems like days ago! It IS days ago!)
I'd already got IE8.x, the latest Flash and .NET 3.51 loaded....so I did leave Fuse to install the required sllauncher et al...

I'll take you advice re the registry editor though....I'll give that a whirl and report back....

The confusion re whether your amp has to be USB'd in advance of/during software installation is really a comment on the lack of documentation with the product...
However, we shall press on...and let you know!
Thanks again for your observations/advice......I'll be back, no doubt!

Full marks to your Eusing cleaner suggestion, first of all....quite a few errors thrown up, so that at least was worth running.
Downed Fuse 2.2.2 again, allowed it to install Silverlight, rebooted to be on the safe side.
No change, I'm afraid....
As I sat there staring at the usual "Loading" screen, I flicked on to TaskManager, just to see what actually was going on.....the FUSELauncher, FUSEServer and sllauncher exe files were all in the top five "mem usage" column, but absolutely nothing as regards CPU.

I adjusted my firewall settings yesterday, so I know that shouldn't be a problem.....

Conclusion? Fuse is clashing/conflicting with something else....but God knows what......

Jack try contacting Fender directly, they always suggest that is the best way they can offer help. Sometimes forum posts only get you part of the way home. Good luck, I hope you get through the maze that's facing you.

Right : wiped last abortive attempt(s), and ran the reg cleaner to make sure...then rebooted.
Out of devilment/interest, I downed Fuse v.2.0.1 (rather than the current 2.2.2 version) and let it install Silverlight.
(As an aside, and referring to the earlier comment about NOT letting MS update it, there's an MS comment during installation that it updates automatically....)
Rebooted after Fuse installation, and ran FUSELauncher from the Run command line, just for a change......
After an age - certainly approaching 2 minutes - the normal "L...PW" screen appeared.....and it's still there.
There are two Fs in "Fender Fuse".
I'm very close to using a third.....!

You're probably right : it's a sunny Bank Holiday, and I'll be buggered if I'm going to waste it....

Hey Guys,

Jack - I'm sorry you're experiencing this problem. Your best bet is to contact us directly. We've gotten most of the users who've had this problem up and running. Also, I would advise against running any registry cleaners. We've seen them do a lot more harm than good.

Found a fix for my computer at least.

Windows PC Vista Home

Uninstalled Fuse, silverlight and .net (cold only remove .net, not .net framework 4 client)
Started re-install of Fuse
After it installed .Net, I got a message to check for updates using
Windows update (Start button>all programs>windows update)
This showed there was a service pack for .net (3.5 SP1), new IE explorer (IE9) and a bunch of security updates
Got them all
Held my breath
Re-installed Fuse

Held my breath again
about a minute into the Loading. Please wait box, and I was getting pretty down
BINGO up it comes!

Hope it works for you!

BTW, the bloody registration process for both Fuse and Community is a nightmare. Remember they are different accounts and you need to register separately.

Hi jack,

Did u checked your event wiever ? entry there ? Error ID ?

If not u coud try to kill the loading with the task manager and check the event. that could help .

Whats about Antivirus / Firewall ?
Drivers up to date ? BIOS, CHIPSET , Sound, USB , GRAKA ?

devil can hide into details :-)

Just to let you know - and I should've done this some time ago, so apologies for the delay! - that I've got Fuse up and running, thanks to the folk at Fender....
I'll pass on their suggestions - it may help if you're having the same problems.

Suggestion # 1: Create a new user account (in my case, within XP SP3) with full admin rights. Log in to that account, and try running Fuse (with amp connected to USB).
If this sorts the problem, it would point to a "permissions related" issue on the original User account.
Have to say that the above didn't work for me, but may help in your particular case. What did eventually sort my problem was their....
Suggestion # 2:The people at Fender sent me a little "troubleshooting" zip file to install and run.....it's actually a small DOS-type batch file which you run from inside the Fender Fuse folder.

If you're still having problems, I'd suggest emailing the support desk - tsl@fender.com - and asking them for a copy of the file....it's easy to run, and full instructions are included with the file documentation......

Good Luck!

Gentlemen and Ladies:
If Latest Fuse showing up BLACK SCREEN after Loading Please Wait message, Close out of Fuse, Go to your DeskTop Shortcut Right Click, Choose Properties, Then Choose compatibility Tab, Check Box run in Mode, then Choose Windows xp service pack 3, apply to that program, and exit. All will work Just fine now.

On my Dell laptop. The Fuse sofeware will run. But it gets to the virtual amp screen and stays grayed out. With Please Wait and a virtual LED flashing at the bottom.

I'm running XP Pro.
