No need to apologize. We are all passionate about what we do.

I'm betting that Fender hired a 3rd party to write the software. After a 3rd party is payed it is sometimes difficult to get them to address problems with their work. Just guessing here but from past experience that looks like the case here.

Maybe it is an issue of XP in combination with certain drivers. Either way they cant expect their customers to NOT have other audio programs and the software should be written to work. Not to harp on L6 but their software development is top notch. The Mustang amp sounds better, I think it's a better amp but for some of us the software and modeling capabilities were what we were after with the amp.

I didnt really expect an answer to my post. I own a business and theres some customers you know you have lost and your better off to leave it alone or the ripple effect can hurt you worse.

I made it cleart I was returning the amp, I did and am happy with my Line 6. I made it clear I was returning it so what point would they have in answering my post?

Unfortunatly this was the first Fender gear I had purchased and it didnt work out. They may want to address that with me privately.

It's wierd, I went back through all of the old stuff I wrote when I did reviews, all the gear I have owned and noticed that there was nothing Fender on the list. I guess the folks who were in charge of who got what gear to test sent me all of the "metal" style gear and never thought to send me any Fender stuff. Pity, the amp sounded great.

If I had bought a smaller Mustang I wouldnt have even posted this. I would have simply installed the software on my sons laptop (Win 7) and given him the amp and let him play it. The Mustang III is just a little more power than he needs in his bedroom.

I wont say anything negative about the product, it was agreat sounding amp. If they updated the specs to state it wouldnt work on XP then I wouldnt have an issue with them. Simple.

I would jump at the chance to put the smaller amp through it's paces on my sons laptop but it wasnt a purchase I needed to make just to test it out. I spend enough on what I do need.

Why would you be taking it out on the mods. Kinda like blaming the waitress for the $@!&#* food.

If this amp didn't sound so great I would have been out...I have a feeling somethin in XP...maybe an update or something. I may go to Vista and see what happens.

If you plan on upgrading your operating system, you may wish to consider upgrading to 7 instead of Vista.

I have to agree that the mods are not the problem. I have worked with Alan on previous problems (all ended up being operator originated errors) and I have to say they are wonderfull to work with and are enthusiastic and caring. I also agree that this is a problem that should not happen with a released product. The earlier version had no problems, so I would suggest that the operative version be backed down to where it DOES work until the upgrade is proofed out. At this moment, I cannot get ANY version to work. I would think it would be easier to back up than leave things non-functional.

Good points. I am suggesting that if the Mods are still watching this thread that perhaps they can be persuasive in getting Fender to put the original software version on the website.

If you're on a Mac, simply run the Fender FUSE 2.0 installer package again. This should correctly install Silverlight.

Yep, followed the advice from Loren and it worked 1st time.

Ah, spoke to soon, it's not working again. I logged out, tried to log in again and no joy, back to how it was before. Oh well, guess it will get sorted eventually :?

If you have a modern Mac, you could try to run Win 7 through Virtual Box. That's what I do.

I have had to have my original amp replaced for a headphone jack issue and I presume need to reload all the software again. I am planning on calling the tech support line to have you all walk me thru this and maybe we can generate some info to help solve this problem. Or it will go just perfect and we will learn nothing. At least in this case, the only variable that has changed will be starting with a virgin amp.

Hey Guys,

I just wanted to clear up a few misconceptions. The Fender FUSE software does indeed run on Windows XP. According to our records, the majority of FUSE users are running it on XP, without any issues. It's still the most widely used OS out there. Windows 7 is a distant 2nd.

Regarding the older versions of FUSE, version 2.0 was the first version to utilize MS Silverlight. Some users are still running version 1.1.3 due to Silverlight not functioning properly on their systems. This was the last version to run natively on Windows. It won't, however, work with the Mustang amps nor is there a Mac version. If you wish to run version 1.1.3 on your PC with your G-DEC 3, you can download it here:
support.fender.com/software/fender_software/fender_fuse/pc/FenderFUSE_1.1.3_Setup.exe

If you are experiencing this issue and have not contacted us directly, please do so either by phone or email. There is a very good chance that we can get you running. We've resolved this issue for many users across all OS's.

Montgomery - Are you sure you're experiencing the "stuck splash screen" issue? It sounds like you may have another type of problem.

Glad to see someone else getting this issue resolved. I am still working with Alan on my Fuse issue, apparently my computer is set up strange. I have new suggestions to try this evening, fingers crossed. Installing IE8 caused a whole lot of additional problems and did not resolve the Fuse problem, so unless there is some other compelling reason, I would not suggest upgrading IE prior to resolving Fuse loading unless you have nothing better to do than hunt for all the files and Favorites that you USED to know exactly where they were.

There MUST be something funny going on with your computer. My favorites were exactly as they were when I upgraded from IE6 to IE8. That was a long time ago, though.
