Mr. Howard,

Back in October, 2010, YOU told us that the issue was a program bug in FUSE and that YOU were in communication with Microsoft/Silverlight in an effort to address and resolve the issue.

At THAT time, I asked you what Microsoft was doing about this; when you expected it to be resolved (2010,2011 or 2012); and who in Microsoft I could contact directly. You were reluctant to answer any of these questions which led me and others to come to no other conclusion than, indeed, you were not really doing anything at all!

If you ARE addressing this with Microsoft, as you have said, then just be HONEST with us and tell us what they have told you! We're looking for straight-forward answers...not a months long runaround...for this serious situation!

At THIS point, I feel that your company's credibility is becoming increasingly questionnable. Continue to be disappointed in FENDER.

Hi Jay,

I'm sorry that this issue has caused you to be disappointed in us. Please remember that the vast majority of our customers are not having this issue whatsoever. What that means is that the software does work, but most likely there is a conflict between either Fender FUSE or Microsoft Silverlight and something else that was already present on your computer. If I cannot divulge certain information to you, that doesn't mean that I'm smoke screening. That means that we're a corporation that is working with another corporation to resolve an issue for our customers. The day that you become an employee here at Fender R&D, will be the day that I'm authorized to put you in contact with any of our contacts at Microsoft.

I stated previously that we have had some success using a certain method. I sent you an email detailing that method. You chose to post here and send angry emails to us rather than follow the instructions I gave you. That's fine, but can you send the information we asked for along with the angry email? That way, we can at least take a deeper look into the problem with your system while you're venting. Do you want this issue to be resolved? You can be honest. It's just us. I'm starting to believe that you would rather go back and forth with me than actually follow the steps that were outlined in the email I sent you. After all, that is exactly what you're doing.

Either way, I maintain that I have been truthful and honest in every communication that we've had. To lie or hide the truth in any manner would be nothing but a slap in the face to the users that do want this issue resolved, and would tarnish the great reputation that we've earned over the past 60 years. I will not be called a liar when nothing but the truth has been told.

We're still awaiting an email containing the results of the script file that was sent to you.

Mr. Howard,

Sorry you have mistaken "disappointment" for "anger". Just a group of frustrated customers here who expect to get what was paid for...nothing more.

Jay, do you have another computer to test install and try Fuse with? .. If not..try this.. make another separate partition, 5-20 Gb and install Windows to it ..takes approx. 15-20 minutes...then you'll have a clean Windows base ..install Fuse.. ...if Fuse runs on that partition...well u know. You can always delete the partition later.. or just keep it for a dual-boot system. Its really not that hard or time consuming.

aLinux,

Thanks for your response! VERY helpful! I really appreciate it! For a long time, I suspected that this issue was nothing more than a computer memory problem for us!

scratch that i got it to work. i'll explain here what i had to do in hope it will help anyone else who may expeirience this issue.

i have a Mustang I amp that i just got. the silverlight that the current version of Fuse was installing was not the most up to date one, you can go to http://www.microsoft.com/getsilverlight ... fault.aspx
and it will tell you what version you have and what is the current version. If you already have the current version it will tell you that you are ready to use it.

next I checked to make sure the version of .NET was correct, if it isn't get the up to date one.

next and last thing, i updated IE8 to IE9 and now it works fine. just a bit of warning, IE9 looks a lot like Google Chrome.......

Hey LiveWire,

We've seen that error before. It's actually IE error. Usually, reinstalling IE fixes the issue. I"m glad FUSE is running on your system.

I'm on XP SP3, I've already reinstalled IE8 (can't install IE9), Silverlight, NET Framework, and I can get fuse to work!

It's a shame, I'm here waiting by my mustang I trying to use fuse and I can't!
On my mom's computer it works, I did the same with her computer and it works, but why on mine doesn't?

I get the "Please Wait" screen and after 2 seconds, it goes off, like if I close it.
I really wanna use Fuse, please help!!!!!

Hey GreenGrayRain,

I'm sorry that you're experiencing an issue with Fender FUSE. Perhaps you may want to contact us directly to get some assistance on this matter. From your description it doesn't sound like you're experiencing the same issue as the others on this thread.

I haven't posted here in quite a while, busy with gigging and recording and using the two G-DEC 3 Thirty amps I pre-ordered in 2009, receiving in early 2010. When the new Mustang I and II amps came out, being a compulsive amp buyer, I snagged a Mustang II. Months later, very recently, when the Mustang V stack came out, I bought one of those as well.

Now... finally, I am working on getting up to speed with Fuse. Like several on this thread, I was unable to get Fuse to load on this computer, though it's my prime recording computer and the only computer in the music room (of 4) that I can use to log onto the internet. I went through the hoops of downloading the latest and greatest version of Fuse, then went through the heartbreak of being totally unable to get it to work here. I got the Please Wait message, then a black screen with the lovely Fuse border.

I tried most of the steps listed in this too-long thread to no avail. I despise IE and did not bother to try to upgrade it, figuring the fault was probably somewhere else since I could get the ancient and original version of Fuse to load and work. But, of course, I am now the proud owner of two G-DECs and two different Mustangs, so I wanted to be able to edit the contents of both series of amps. The three most used computers down here are loaded with Windows XP (SP3) and have performed faultlessly for years.

Finally conceding defeat on this computer, I transferred the latest version of Fuse via flash drive to my #2 computer. When I started the install, two things happened - the first (and I think most important) was that Fuse told me that my computer needed to install the latest version of the MS .net frameworks, frequently mentioned in this thread. The second was the Fuse did not prompt me to install SilverLight, which I was repeatedly prompted to install on the other computer. I thought that was a little weird.

After bumping and grinding for a while, Fuse told me it was installed and when I hit the icon, though it hung on Loading... Please Wait longer than I could hold my breath - it did come up! Shortly thereafter I began hooking my four amps up to the computer via USB and updated the firmware on all of them. Fuse successfully identified each of the amps and I was able to edit presets on all of them... except the Mustang V. I am going to bring that issue up in detail in another thread I will start shortly.

Whether it will help others who are struggling with Fuse or not, my situation told me that it was most likely the .net frameworks that were the issue for me. Right now I can use Fuse, but I cannot log on to Fuse or Community, since I am offline with that computer. I'm wireless down here, so I may have to end up upgrading that computer with new wireless components so I can log on with it, too, but for now I am happy just to have Fuse running. I'll try the other two computers this weekend and see what results I get with them. The one running Vista is set up for wireless, so I'll hope for the best.

Loren, my previous experiences with you, back when I dragged my first G-DEC 3 Thirty's into my cave, were good ones, so I think you guys really are doing all you can. I am, and have always been, a true Fender fanatic. I hope this post brings a glimmer of hope to some.

I recently bought a Line 6 Studio GX interface and the install and multiple updates went without any problems as with the gazillions of other stuff that i have ever installed.

Hobbyist, I couldn't agree more! It should not be THIS hard to install this program! I've been going around and around with this issue with Fender since October, 2010. Loren Howard (Fender Rep) has previously stated that there is a "glitch" in the FUSE program that Fender has been trying to resolve with the help of Microsoft. However, he cannot give any update on the status of that fix.

Mr. Howard continues to insist that this problem occurs with a small number of users. What he doesn't acknowledge is that his conclusion is based on the number of users that subscribe to, and articulate their concerns, in this Forum...there is no way to statistically identify the real number of dis-satisfied customers who may or may not have registered on this thread!!!

HI
I am going through the same problem as Jay.
I got my Mustang II and installed FUSE and silverlight as I was told and when i opened it theat slapsh screen for less than a second came on and then ..NOTHING! blank blackness...sad really...i tried re-installing it...again nothing is happening...I realise it has something to do with the fact that my PC is windows XP SP3 and something to do with .NET frameworks...but I ain;t to sure...all I am asking fender is to please help us people out...installing a software shoutldn;t be such a big problem especially if it is AUTHENTIC software and not some pirated torrent bullcrap. the main reason i bought this amp was so that i could take full advantage of the USB connectivity and Fuse software to tweak my sounds and get a good set of sounds on my amp instead of the company presets...that aint happenin unless FUSE works! HELP!

Hey Loren!

What can I say? I should have paid a little more attention the first couple times around. You sent me a message, which I read, then proceeded to do what you suggested. I should have known that with Gates' convoluted programming that updating IE would help to solve the problem and updating .NET frameworks would solve the rest of it. Silverlight was already on my computer from before and when Fuse came to that part of the setup, it recognized Silverlight and skipped on over it to finish the install.

Saints (and Fender) be praised, when I fired up Fuse, there it was, ready to rock & roll. I am not sure why I had no trouble getting it to go on my other computer as it is running a 2007 version of IE, but I did have to update .NET frameworks... So, thanks Loren, for giving me a kick in the pants and helping me get Fuse up - I am a believer that it is NOT a Fuse software problem.

I do have one small personal issue now that Fuse is up. When I go to Log In, being unable to remember my password, I hit the Forgot Your Username and Password link and I get sent to Fuse on the Fender web site, where my Fuse profile page comes up and I can log right automatically on the site as User Name and Password are there, but I can't log in through the Fuse software as I don't know my password. It's right there on the web site and I can access everything there, but my PW is just the series of asterisks, don't know what it is so that I can enter it through Fuse. What should I do?

Thanks again, Loren, for getting me up to speed.
