Hey all,

If you have installed Fender FUSE 2.0 and upon launching for the first time it gets stuck on the "Loading. Please Wait....." screen, we may have a workaround for you. We believe this issue is caused by an improper install of MS Silverlight.

If you're using Windows, please uninstall Microsoft Silverlight using Add/Remove Programs in the control panel. Once that's removed, simply run the Fender FUSE 2.0 installer again and let it install Silverlight as well as Fender FUSE.

If you're on a Mac, simply run the Fender FUSE 2.0 installer package again. This should correctly install Silverlight.

Let me know if this helps.

Does not work for me on either of two machines using XP. On both machines the "loading, please wait" message flashes for an instant and then goes to a blank black window.

http://www.fender.com/community/forums/ ... 3&start=15 has some details

Uninstall silverlight if you have it installed.
download fuse 2 (299 meg since it contains and installs silverlight and .net framework)
Install sp3, IE8, and newest flash for xp.
Install FUSE with the amp not connected.
Follow prompts for rebooting etc.

The 2 Fender web accounts are separate, the FUSE account you will create is not this forum account, a different and more secure password is needed
on the new FUSE account.
Some people have needed to uninstall all the .net frameworks accumulated over the years, hopefully you'll get by on the easy side.

I ran the mSoft disk checks/defrag, and a few anti-virus apps before installing.
Edit: firewall/security settings may have an effect, and running FUSE from the windows command box may help.

Good luck! :)

Hey Kevin77,

It sounds to me like you need to update your Internet Explorer. We've seen that behavior on systems that have IE6 or earlier installed. Fender FUSE requires IE 7 or later. Try updating IE and let us know if that fixes it for you.

I'm having the Loading...Please wait, and have re-installed Fuse 2.0.0.447, with no resolution.

Have also resent an e-mail, as we were working on something earlier this spring. I hoped that fuse 2.0 would have resolved my issue.

Hi, a few people have had success on windows versions by using the steps in the post just above, Mac issues are a bit different.
Cheers

Hi, just bought the amp today and software does this "please wait" thing.
i run xp with all the latest updates and never had any problems like this with any software. so how can fender release anything like this???

if there is no solution i will send the amp back and also spread this information in any forum i find. what kind of support is this?
"we believe...." i have reinstalled silverlight and fuse, did not help.

what i dont understand what is the connection with IE - i never use IE (still have the latest version because of the windows updates - in fact windows update is the only thing i use it for)

in fact i am getting even more angry now that i searched the website and could not find a support email address for this problem.

if there is no working solution posted here within a few days i have to return the amp.

(new i should have stayed with my original 55 champ and not mess with this modern stuff)

Hello snorrevonflake,

Welcome to the Fender Forums. I'm sorry you're having issues with Fender FUSE. Fortunately, we are here to help. Can you please start by telling me the exact behavior you're experiencing? When you launch the app do you get a stuck splash screen that says "Loading. Please Wait..." or does the app load but it reads "please wait" in the lower left hand corner? We have seen both types of behavior. The resolutions for each are different.

Also, what are your system specs (OS, CPU, Ram)? If you'd like you can contact us directly with that information.

Thanks,
Loren

thanks for the quick reply, i see a tweed amp but window is darker, cant click on anything, lower left corner reads please wait.
OS is Windows XP, all latest updates. CPU is Intel E8400, 3 GB Ram.
I installed FUSE from the latest download on the website and also installed Silverlight when the fuse installer told me to do so.
I normaly dont use IE other than for windows update.

"The resolutions for each are different" - if there is a known solution why cant it be found here? I searched the forum and got the impression that this problem is known for a few weeks now but could not find a solution other than some users suggesting to more or less re-install windows. (which i will not do)

Hi, a few things to consider, the amp must not be connected during the install. All .net framework installs may need to be removed before reinstalling successfully. Disk sector, fragmentation, and anti-virus utilities should be run prior to large installations. Not all usb ports are equal, and hubs don't work, use the best usb port you have. For luck, I would disconnect other usb devices during the install. Firewall/security/admin settings may need to be adjusted. Screen resolution may need to be changed. Since no MD5 checksum is deployed, a fresh download would
be a good idea. A fresh install of xp Service Pack 3, from a downloaded executable would be good. The latest flash is needed for some functions,
and the newest IE8 is sometimes necessary.

I had an ancient xp home, sp1, no IE, .net, or silverlight at all,
I defragged, ran a sector scan (which repaired subtle errors), Spybot S&D scan, then downloaded and installed sp3, IE8, and FUSE 2, and was successful.
I later needed the newest flash to enable rating presets.
Cheers

I have XP with latest updates running, and while i thank you for you suggestions however my opinion is that a software that requires the user to do all (or any) of the things you suggested to run is faulty and i would not buy or use it. I recently bought a Line 6 Studio GX interface and the install and multiple updates went without any problems as with the gazillions of other stuff that i have ever installed.

Hey All,

Sixline- Thanks for the help but some of that information isn't exactly correct. For starters the amp definitely can be connected during install. The only time you have to worry about connecting or disconnecting your amp is if it's in USB Drive Mode or if it's performing a copy/transfer task. You're right about hubs not being supported though. Also, we would never ask users to reinstall their OS just to use Fender FUSE. On certain systems the app may not behave properly and in those instances we've had good success working with users on a case by case basis.

Snorrevonflake- The vast majority of users have been able to install and run Fender FUSE without any adjustments or updates to their system and without having to change any system settings. The users that have had and are having issues are definitely the minority.

Regarding the use of IE, Fender FUSE uses the OS's default web browser to access the Community content as well as Silverlight needing access to a recent version of IE on Windows or Safari on OS X. IE 7 or later is supported so you don't necessarily need to have the newest version, you just can't use IE6 which was released in 2001.

If you'd like a resolution to the issue you're experiencing, your best bet is to contact us. We may need to get some specific information about your system i.e. crash logs. We have techs dedicated to troubleshooting G-DEC 3, Mustang, and Fender FUSE issues.

I had to uninstall Sliverlight on my PC and installed FUSE and allowed it to install the current version of Silverlight, but still no go on running FUSE. I haven't even connected the amp to the PC either. I keep getting the "Loading.. Please Wait" screen for a brief second then it disappears. By the way, I'm running IE9 though Windows Vista. Didn't realise it would be such a pain to run this software.

Ok. After 7 tries I finally got it working. I had to reconfigure my firewall settings and reinstall IE, but it now works.
