I'm attempting to record a rhythm guitar track into Garageband 09. I have the Mustang II connected to my iMac via USB. The track lacks volume and presence even with the track input volume pegged. In the Real Instrument editor screen, I have Stereo 1/2 Mustang Amplifier selected but the Recording Level and Automatic Level Control are not selectable. I want to get the same richness of sound I'm hearing from the Mustang II onto a recorded track. For what it's worth, I'm using the "65 Twin Reverb preset in Fuse with added modulation. Any help greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi, I'm recording the Mustang headphone out into the line-in on my soundcard, into a Reaper stereo track, with excellent results.
Reaper has a nice sytem for recording, and can host the
Fender Amplitube LE for you. The Reaper demo is generous, and license for musicians earning $20,000 or less yearly is only $40
Cheers

I'll definitely give the headphone output a try. Thanks for your input!

Hey gzenitsky,

The USB output on the Mustang doesn't have a level control. What you can do is record to Garageband or any other recording software and raise the volume there.

Thank you Loren. I discovered how to check the level control settings in the Mac midi parameters while researching online. The sound level I'm getting on the tracks in Garageband are so low that pumping up the track volume has little effect. The track VU meters barely react with the recording level pegged. Strangely enough, the very first recording I made when first bringing the amp home from the music store sounded very good with well balanced levels. I have since been unable to reproduce using the exact same preset and I cannot determine that anything has changed since the first recording. If I can't get this figured out soon, I may resort to a USB or Firewire interface with preamps.
