I am running windows 7 on an AMD 4800 chip 64 bit and I loaded Fuse 2. It Loads fine but when I execute the file I get the load screen with "Loading Please Wait message" and that's it. I have reloaded, tried compatability modes and even checked security...no luck.

PLEASE Help

It sounds like your Windows Firewall is blocking the FUSE application. This happened to me on my laptop running Win XP SP2. I had to completely uninstall and reinstall 2.0 before the computer would ask me whether I wanted to block or unblock FUSE in Windows Firewall. If you don't get this question, try disabling Windows Firewall and see if that fixes your problem.

Good luck,
Bob

Hey jdrichard01,

There are a a few things that could have gone wrong. Would you mind sending us your log file for Fender FUSE? That would aid us in pinpointing exactly what the problem is. Here is a KB article detailing how to find your log files.
http://www.fender.com/support/article.php?kb_id=176

Thanks for your help.

So I called your support line and they say there are only a handfull of issues associated with Win 7 problems. Allen answered the phone and will be getting back to me asap with some possible solutions. PS: Windows 7 Fuse Log file is not produced in this case because the program freezes and does not crash. As well there is no "C:Documents and Settings ->Application Data->Fender ->FUSE ->Logs" directory in Windows 7.

Thoughts?

JD

This is not a firewall issue. I have had issues with security with Windows 7, however, I am logged in as the Adm with all rights. Not Sure if another program could effect Fuse loading. The screen comes up but it just freezes. perhaps it is something in my video drivers??

Hey JD,

As I mentioned previously we believe the issue you are experiencing involves MS Silverlight and Fender FUSE not communicating properly with each other. We are doing all we can to resolve this issue for you and a few others and we should have a solution soon.

Thanks,

Loren

Thanks Loren,

For now, I can only run the old version Fuse 1.1.3 on my Netbook. When I try loading Fuse 2 on my netbook (Win XP) i get very unusable "choppy like" syncing with the amp....not usable.

As well, when I try to use Fuse 1.1.3 on my PC running Win 7, I get text bluring with the pass of the mouse...very strange. So, Your Software ain't impressing me much, too platform dependant I think.

BACK TO FUSE 1.1.3 until FUSE 3 I guess.

OK, someone said that I should try uninstalling Fuse, ASIO Drivers and .Net; then install the Fender Fuse 2 FULL package. I tried this and NO LUCK. This is very odd. I have no problems with many other programs running in windows 7, this includes games, video processing programs and numerous music production programs. This is very very frusterating as Fuse 1.1.3 also shows chopping of text on my plateform and so I am using my netbook with Fuse 1.1.3.

Man, there has to be a way to build software that is not so dependant on .NET or Silverlight.

I really need some serious support here. I am a long time FENDER supporter, guitars and amps alike.

PLEASE PLEASE help.

Fly to canada and fix my problem :)

I will also beta test for you FREE:) I am an Electrical Engineer by education.

Hi JD,

I would have to say it's something on your end, not the software, or everyone would be having the problem (can't say for WinXp though, I have 2 other computers with Xp, but not using them with Fuse). I have a Acer laptop running Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium, installed Fuse, did the firmware update and all went without a problem. I didn't have to do anything with .NET or Silverlight. I did the 300 meg download of Fuse 2.0, installed it, installed the Fender Asio drivers, Ableton and ApmliTube, end of story. I live in Canada, about 2 hours north of Toronto, so if your in that general area perhaps I could help (I know its unlikely, it is a BIG country, but I'll ask)?

p.s. Fuse is a bit sluggish, screens can get a bit jerky when switching amps if you know what I mean, but other than that everything runs fine. I attribute it to my Acer 1810t with dual 1.3 GHz processors. I also use Guitar Rig 4, Amplitube 3, and Reaper without issue. This is on a stock install of Windows 7, not other crap installed, eg. Norton or the like. Other than doing a fresh install of Windows 7, I don't know what to suggest, it should work fine.

Glen,

Big thanks for the reply. Not sure what the issue is either?? I have tried everything, even registry security changes (had that issue with Window 7 before). I can't do a fresh install of windows at this point...too many apps loaded and too much time. I may simply have to wait for a FUSE 3, or someone else who has solved the problem.

Big thanks...I am in Ottawa.

How did you get Guitar Rig 4 working with G-DEC?

I don't have GR 4 working with the amp, was just stating that I have other amp modeling and recording software working on my system without issue, same as Fuse.

No G-DEC, very happy owner of a Mustang 1. Had a Vox Da5 for 2 weeks prior to the Mustang. Thanks to Long & McQuade for having a 30 day no questions asked return policy because the Vox was quickly returned. Nice little amp, just doesn't compare to the Mustang.

Glen

edit:

JD, I was reading back through the post and saw where they had asked you for a log file and you said the location didn't exist. This is where mine is:

C:\Users\Glen\AppData\Roaming\Fender\FUSE\Logs

which I noticed is different that what you typed in your response. Again this is in Windows 7.

Thanks, I will look in the log file. You can check me out on youtube. Just search for "jdrichard01". Got about 100 videos out, with Santana Europia as my latest.

Thanks

Hi, I noticed you mentioned gaming, and games are notorious for taking un-announced liberties with your OS, can you uninstall them, and reinstall them on an external drive later? I also found a utility to completely nuke all existing .net componants, I posted this in another related topic:

The following is what I would do as normal maintenance, and especially for something as complex and rewarding as FUSE, and I have been very lucky.

Back up your crucial files to something other than the system hard-disk.
Move the old FUSE v2, and re-download it.
Uninstall Silverlight, and any games that access the internet as part of normal use.
Run a Spybot-Search&Destroy session.
Run your system defrag and checkdisk utilities.
Set a system restore point.

Now, with the amps usb disconnected, install the asio driver, and FUSE V2, following the directions. Connect the amp in the fastest usb port, and not a hub, with all other usb devices removed.

Make sure you are on the administrator account
for all these steps.

Connect the amp in the fastest usb port, and not a hub, with all other usb devices removed.

Also, I found this utility that removes and cleans the registry of all
.net framework componants. This may be advisable, since FUSE includes and installs a recent .net framework, and in computers, if its a 1 when it needs to be a zero, you're done for :(

http://www.blogsdna.com/4171/how-to-com ... dows-7.htm

http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/ (for Spybot S&D)

I had no Silverlight or .net framework on my computer, so there were no
possible conflicts, and FUSE has run from the first click.

Hope this helps!

JD, also be careful with .NET. As far as I know it's not always backward compatible, sort of:

a quote from MSDN ("Newer versions are fully backwards compatible. However, if you have both installed, code compiled to the older version will still use the older version - the frameworks can be installed "side by side". If a game tells you it wont run or install becuase you don't have 1.1 installed, it's buggy and they need to fix their version detection logic. In fact, one of the most common bugs in applications is faulty detection logic that isn't "forwards compatible". Microsoft is VERY concerned with backwards compatibility in the .NET framework.")

so don't go uninstalling older versions like 1.1, 2.0, etc. as some program on your system may be dependent on that specific version. It would appear that Fuse is using version 4.0, because prior to installing Fuse I only had 1.1. You may already be aware of this, if so disregard. This may have nothing to do with your issue with Fuse, but may with something else.
