I know there's already a thread on this but I decided to start a new one to ensure it gets noticed.

I initially downloaded and attempted to install the new 2.0 version yesterday. When it failed to install I switched my computer off totally and thought I'd try again tomorrow.

Well, tomorrow has come and I downloaded BOTH versions of FUSE (Web and Full) and NEITHER of them will install. Installation falls over almost immeditely after I hit the 'install' button on the installer.

Not only that but my old version of FUSE has disappeared from my system!!

Please help me Fender! I love the G-DEC and just want to get on and play via FUSE!

I'm running Windows XP Service Pack 3.

Thanks

Hey SlickString47,

Do you get any specific error messages when you try to install 2.0? Are you installing from an administrator account? Fender FUSE 2.0 must be installed on an account with admin rights.

i installed the new fuse before i knew there was a firmware upgrade for the 3-30. It won't work with firmware 1.03, and for some strange reason the 1.04 procedure to copy the upgrade to the sd card and then turning the amp on won't upgrade as before; can't do it through new fuse cause it won't work with 1.03 firmware, and i can't do it through the old version of fuse because the new installation replaced it. Anyone got any ideas?
thanks

Hey Lance,

Fender FUSE 2.0 works fine with the 1.03 firmware. What I said was that some of the issues you are seeing on your amp may be fixed by upgrading to 1.04 firmware. Are you sure the file that you copied to your SD card is named gdec3_v1_04.upd? Also it must be copied to the root of the SD card.

Hi Loren

Yes, I have admin rights on my PC.

When FUSE fails to install a box appears that says -
"Error installing Fender FUSE".

When I click on 'show detail' it says -
Output folder: C:\Program Files\Fender\Fender FUSE
Extract: FUSEUI.xap... 100%
Execute: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Silverlight\sllauncher.exe" /install:"C:\Program Files\Fender\Fender FUSE\FUSEUI.xap" /origin:https://fuse.fender.com/FUSEUI.xap

Hope this helps pin down the problem

Hey Loren, here's the scoop... first, i got it all working, thank you. what i found out is this:

It is important to install the 1.04 firmware update BEFORE installing the new version of Fuse; it isn't compatible with 1.03, at least not in my case.

After the firmware update, install the Fuse update, and make sure you install the new driver for your computer.

Then, restart your computer to put everything in sync.

Everything seems to be working fine; the Fuse upgrade is fantastic! Hope future firmware upgrades will allow recording directly to the sd card, but at least we're making some headway here.

Thanks again
Lance

Until I get the new version of FUSE installed I won't be connecting my amp to the PC so I would've thought that the above is not relevant to my problem at this point.

Loren - Any progress on a fix for me yet? :D

Hello again,

I've checked and tried in the meantime severall things

- deleting all the old files manually from Fender Fuse
- updating the amp to firmware 1.04 via SD-Card (this was no problem)
- reboot the computer
- trying to install Fender Fuse with connected amp
- tyring to install Fender Fuse without connected amp

but everthing was not successful. I got everytime the following statment:

Output folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Fender\Fender FUSE
Extract: FUSEUI.xap... 100%
Execute: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Silverlight\sllauncher.exe" /install:"C:\Program Files (x86)\Fender\Fender FUSE\FUSEUI.xap" /origin:"https://fuse.fender.com/FUSEUI.xap"

After that the installation stopped.

The systems just build the folder "Fender FUSE" and included the file "FUSEUI.xap". Nothing more happend.

There must be a bug in the installation procedure.

Hey Guys,

We are hard at work on a fix for this issue. So far we have a few ideas on what the problem could be and we are exploring all of those avenues. I promise to keep you posted on our progress. Again, we appreciate your patience.

Hey Guys,

It would help us out tremendously if you could verify that the SLLauncher.exe file actually exists in this location on your computers. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Silverlight\sllauncher.exe.
On 64 bit versions of Windows the file should appear at C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Silverlight\sllauncher.exe".

Please verify that this file exists at these locations. Thanks everybody.

Hi Loren, the file is there, but on the German Win7 system the path is
C:\Programme (x86)\Microsoft Silverlight\sllauncher.exe.

Thanks so much Häbbe. Is there anyway you could send us a screenshot of the error you're getting? I hate to ask but it would help us out quite a bit. You can take a screen shot by pressing the Print Scrn key. You can paste the image into MS Paint or WordPad. Thanks so much again.
