Your amp must be connected via the USB cable and the Fender ASIO must have been installed. If this is the case, then Loren will have to help you over the phone.

The Fender ASIO is the sound driver that gets installed on your computer by the amp. If you follow the Live audio setup guide you should see this listed as the hardware device in the audio preferences panel.

I'm in the same boat - I cannot get Live to record live audio and like the earlier poster Audacity works just fine. Live also works fine on my Mac but I'd like it to work on the PC.

Hey Guys,

The G-DEC 3 DVD includes a tutorial video on setting up Ableton Live Lite 8 and the G-DEC 3. If you have that DVD handy you should take a look at it. It walks you through step by step. Those videos should be online soon as well.

The video just provides the same information as the FAQ and the hardware setup in Live itself. This still does not work.

The question is - once we've tried the setup instructions, the video, the FAQ the forum and still can't get it working - what do we do now?

Thanks
Steve

Hey Guys,

Please make sure you have Fender Universal Asio selected as the driver in Live's audio prefs and have DEC Audio enabled as the device. In the Hardware Setup/ASIO setup window, you should see DEC Audio listed along with your computer soundcard. There should be power buttons next to each device in that window. Be sure to click the power off on your internal soundcard device and click the button next to DEC Audio on.
Can you guys verify that these settings are set correctly?

Loren

Ah - that's the trick. I had to turn off several 'Line In' and 'Microphone' inputs and Live is now working.

You should get this added to the FAQ entry.

Thanks
Steve
