I am thinking about purchasing the G-DEC3. I have messed around with it in the store and noticed it has a save button. This button only allows you to save a sample, like 30 seconds. Does this amp allow you to save/record whole songs? If so, how?

Thanks!

Hey atm07,

The G-DEC 3 features a phrase sampler that can be used to record up to 2 mins 20 seconds of audio in a lower quality mode. High quality mode gives you 35 seconds of recording time. The save button is used to save changes you have made to presets, settings, etc.

If you record something, is there a way you can save that recording as a .wav file and import it to abelton live or anything like that?

With the amp you get some drivers. After they are installed, your amp acts like a sound source and as an loudspeaker. (when connected using the USB wire)
I personally use Audacity (a free recording software). I plug my amp to my computer and select DEC (aka the amp) as my sound input device, hit the record button and start jamming.
The input signal is very high so you should either and/or lower the volume from the amp or windows sound management. I've set my volume from the amps "amp" settings to around 2.5 and the input signal volume from the sound manager to around 7.
