First of all where should I be posting questions about the Amplitube software that came with my G-DEC.
Second: I can not get any sound out of the Amplitube software that came with my G-DEC. There is no sound from my computer sound card and no sound from my amp. If I configure the Audio Setup to use ASIO there is no sound at all if I configure it for DirectX it sounds horrible through my computer headphones. I can't even figure how to use this application since it came with no documentation. On Youtube there are demos, but they don't show how to hook the thing up in the first place. Where can I get the documentation for this product?

Tome73:

The users manual is located on the CD that came with your G-Dec 3. You will need to open the "Third Part Software" folder, and then the "Amplitube Fender LE" folder, and finally the "Amplitube Fender LE - PC folder".

I noticed another thread on this subject too. Take a look and see if it helps you any. The thread is located at:

http://admin.fender.com/community/forums/viewtopic.php?p=445520&highlight=&sid=3225758dd6228b6faf5672854c3e4cdb

I hope that helps. I would try and assist further but I went to the dark side (MAC) years ago and have not used a Windows computer since. I am a big fan of the Amplitube Software myself but I am running the SE version on a Macbook using the Stealthplug adapter. Additionally, I have the iPad version of the software that is really cool but I am still waiting for the adapter to ship next week.

Good luck with the Amplitube!

Thanks truebluefliplover for your reply.
Well I have given up on getting this thing to work and when looking at the features included with the LE version it is not worth it as well.

To be honest I am a little miffed at the fact that Fender has included what appears to be worthless software as a selling point. I am going to make it a point to register a complaint with the Guitar Center since they promoted the G-DEC by saying the software was awesome. The software is is too limited to be awesome and nothing more then a teaser. People would be better off being told to download trial versions and then Fender should give a discount coupon instead.

So my evaluation is: Nice little amp but this and Ableton Live software has no value and should not be used as a selling point since that is miss leading.

I use the Amplitube Fender SE version that came with my Stealthplug adapter instead of the LE version. For some reason the LE version causes a whining sound through my speakers as soon as I load the software. I normally use Amplitube without the G-Dec 3 but with my Macbook Pro. That way I can take my guitar and the Macbook anywhere I want as long as I take a set of headphones along.

I am not sure when I am going to upgrade to the full version of Amplitube. The upgrade is $199 and it comes with a lot more amps and effects. They do sell it bundled with the Stealth Pedal which is supposed to be a decent audio interface in itself but I guess that I will just wait and see. For now, the SE version is okay for my needs.

Don't complain too loudly, a guy called "veryslowbrainer" and another Fender nazi will get on your case. However, I agree, the amp is fine, but Amplitube and Ableton (which I've never gotten to work with the 3-30) are pretty hopeless.

I'll complain loudly. After successfully loading up the Fender Fuse software and enjoying that software with my shiny new G-Dec 3 Thirty, I thought today that I might try to load up the AmpliTube Fender LE software that came with my G-Dec and which is advertised prominently as one of the 'features' of my G-Dec. Well guess what, over three different DVD disk drives on my fast computer I got six to ten variations of one response from the software and DVD that came with my G-Dec . That one response was freezing of my computer. The DRM or whatever other crap they put on the disk made sure I didn't 'steal' the software. Very successful at that. Of course it made it so I couldn't even load the software up. Great. I love the G-Dec, I'm enjoying it connected to my computer through the FUSE software and I thought after looking at the AmpliTube software on YouTube that I would equally enjoy their softeware, even the 'LE' software which usually means a useless crippled version. Instead I have a sour taste in my mouth over it with something that wouldn't even load up. Which is probably just as well, if the Disk it came on locked up my computer a number of times then who knows what sort of DRM and crapware that would have been loaded on if it actually did work. Geez. Great job guys.

Hi Gadlaw,

I'm sorry you're having so many issues with the IK MultiMedia AmpliTube Fender LE software that came with your amp. If you are having issues installing, authorizing, or getting the software to work with your amp feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you most kindly. I did go to the IK website and asked there and they gave me as a solution downloading the software from their website. Which I did but after having so many issues even trying to load it up I've lost my enthusiasm and appetite for trying it. I worry about using software that is so DRM laden that it locks my computer down, loads stuff to protect itself that also inhibits my ability to burn and archive my own files. I don't know if this software does that but being so locked down it won't even load from disk isn't a good sign.

The software for the G-Dec in fact loaded up and works and I love my G-Dec, it's awesome and I'm happily using it with my Highway Strat and a new Robbie Calvo Truefire course.

Complain as loudly as you want. One of the main purposes of a forum is to voice complaints. I'm here to find the answers. That's common in a forum environment. Users are the ones who will express the problems in a system. Users share their solutions, and with enough posts of the same problems, the vendor may take preventive and/or corrective action. Did you notice that many of the posts are about problems with software and/or information? I talked with a Fender rep who told me there are mistakes concerning product registration. He gave me some work-arounds to try. If they work, I will post them for others.
You can also use a forum like this to convince everyone you are special, and that you have great presets, but I'll leave that to the creepy guys who attack those of us who have legitimate complaints.

Thank you, Loren.
Gadlaw, you can also contact support at IK Multimedia, as well.
We at IK really love working with Fender Musical Instruments, and there is more from our partnership on the way.

I bought a Fender Mustang (which is AWESOME btw) and it came with a CD with 3 different softwares - the Fuse, Amplitube and Live - was able to get Fuse to work so far. When I tried to install Amplitube, it says I need a number that is supposed to be on a card that came with the software in order to get it to work, but it never came with a card. It came on a cd in a little cd jacket in the box that the amp came in. I am at a loss at what to do next. Any help appreciated!

ahhhh. I see I'm not alone with my Amplitude issues. Is anyone using Amplitude light with a guitar plugged into the mic input of their computer?

Hey johnjaypl,

Probably won't find too many people successfullyusing the mic input on their computers to connect a guitar. The guitar signal must be amplified. Are you having trouble getting AmpliTube Fender LE set up with your amp?

Yes, the mic input may be one of my problems.

A big part of my problem is that I don't think I understand how AmpliTube is meant to be used. It came with my Mustang amp, which is great, and I thought I'd give AmpliTube a try.

What I would like to do with AmpliTube is use it on my computer, without the Mustang amp. It would just be convienient to be able to noodle on the computer without moving the amp around. I don't need perfect sound for this but it needs to be reasonable of course.

I have a preamp I could use to boost the guitar signal if necessary.

My first problem with Amplitube though is latency it's very long with DirectX, ASIO doesn't seem to work. I've finally read the screen that comes up when I launch amplitude and it does warn about needing a special interface to make it work. Is that the bottom line?

John
