I still have not watched the video, but I found the files you were talking about. I missed ONE and that hung the whole thing up. I installed the 3.0 package, but I am still getting an error from FUSE saying that it needs the correct version of silverlight.

Try this:

Anything to do with Silverlight can be deleted.

Or

Files should be located:

Root Library:
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/Silverlight.plugin
/Library/Receipts/Silverlight*.pkg

User Library:
~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Silverlight

Hi Loren,

Thanks for the info. What are the hours of support? I have limited time to call. If there is a fix, could you guys add that to the sticky?

Hi All,

In regard to removing the current Silverlight update from a Mac system, there are a couple of specifics. In OS 10.5, the procedure is fairly simple. You need to go to root Library/Receipts folders. Here you need to locate the Silverlight.pkg file. Once located, drag this file to the Trash. Then empty Trash.

You will also likely see a file titled Silverlight3.0.pkg. This file can be left in place. Once you have done this, you will need to reinstall Fender FUSE & related tools from the Version 1.0.0 installer file. This can be found here: http://www.fender.com/support/gdec3/art ... p?kb_id=48. This will correct the issue on OS 10.5

For OS 10.6, there are a couple of additional hidden files. We ask that OS 10.6 users that run into this issue please contact us in the TSL directly, and we can walk you through the additional step to correct this problem for OS 10.6.

Again, please DO NOT INSTALL the Silverlight update at this time. We are working on an update for Fender FUSE that will address this compatibility issue, and will release it as soon as possible. Thanks very much for your patience.

Hi, please try this, this works well fo me (please excuse my bad english):

rm -rf /Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/Silverlight.plugin
rm -rf /Library/Receipts/Silverlight*.pkg
rm -rf ~/Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft/Silverlight

AND ADDITIONALLY delete those hidden files:
sudo rm /private/var/db/receipts/com.microsoft.installSilverlightPlugin*

After that reinstall the complete fender fuse-software (, not only the silverlight 3.0 package because this did not work on my mac with osx 10.6.4).

do I need to remove FUSE first? and if so how should I do that? When I do the re-install, FUSE keeps trying to install an updated version of silverlight. I have 3.0 on the computer. Was there an in-between version? I have done the re-install of the FUSE and still it keeps telling me I need to update silverlight.

No, I removed Silverlight only, then reinstalled using the Fender Fuse Downloader. After that the software worked again (and there was no update-message). What happens if you just ignore the message (until fender will release an update)?

Hi svente76,

If you have successfully removed the updated Silverlight files, and reinstalled the Fender FUSE installer 1.0.0. You will definitely want to ignore any messages to update Silverlight.

We are working on an updater right now, and will have it out as soon as possible. Thanks very much for your patience.

Sorry, I though the JK stood for Jedi Knight and you were trying the Jedi mind trick on us!
