So I don't come to these forums often, and I installed the silverlight update on my Mac. Now I cannot use FUSE at all. What do I do? is there a way to fix this? I made the jump to Mac because I HATE Microsoft, and now they are ruining my fun once again. Any ideas?

I am running OS 10.5.8 on an intel mac

Uninstall everything, and start over.

Or....

If you use Time Machine, just roll back to the backup before you did the update.

I don't use time machine (although I think I am going to start) so any suggestions or tips on the uninstall? And how do I find a version of silverlight that is compatible with FUSE?

I'm not sure where OSX puts the Silverlight files, but the ones you have now, need to go.

You might try installing the old one, and see what happens.

Time Machine is awesome.

fixed the link....

There must be a way. What happens when you install the older version?

Ok, Cannot remove 4.0 according to the 3.0 installer, but everything else that uses silverlight says it is not installed. going to bed now, very frustrated. Who wants to buy a slightly used GDEC 3?

Try this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MJIZOzsipKk

Anything to do with Silverlight can be deleted.

Or

Files should be located:

Root Library:
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/Silverlight.plugin
/Library/Receipts/Silverlight*.pkg

User Library:
~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Silverlight

thanks! I will have to watch that video over the weekend. I already deleted all those silverlight files and directories and the microsoft installer still says that silverlight(4.0) is installed. I am really ready to chuck this amp. I only had a couple hours to play last night and I wasted it messing with trying to uninstall the update.

No, I haven't thought about getting a PC instead of a Mac. After using both since the early 1990s the Mac is more better.

I still have not watched the video, but I found the files you were talking about. I missed ONE and that hung the whole thing up. I installed the 3.0 package, but I am still getting an error from FUSE saying that it needs the correct version of silverlight.
