I run a Mac (intel) with system 10.5.8. At one point I had Fuse loading and syncing with the g-dec. I did an update for Silverlight and since then fuse won''t load. It comes up VERY BRIEFLY saying "loading" and then immediately goes dark and at the bottom left of the fuse window there is a blinking light and it says "exiting". There it stays. Can anyone help?

Hi mgillen,

I'm sorry to hear that you are having troubles with Fender FUSE on your Mac. Can you please send us an email, and we can send you instructions to uninstall Fender FUSE & related apps., and do a new install. That would probably be the best thing at this point.

Thanks very much. And sorry for the inconvenience.

I am having the same issue, could you just post the instruction on the forum or in the support section? I installed the silverlight update and it crashed everything.

Hi dth101,

I have placed a detailed explanation in another thread (see link below) for removing the Silverlight update from Mac OS 10.5. In the case of OS 10.6, it is a bit more complex due to two hidden files. We are recommending that users running OS 10.6 contact us directly, so that we can walk those users through an additional specific step to remove the hidden files. And we are working on an update for Fender FUSE & Silverlight compatibility now as well.

I'm having the same problem, except with Windows XP. When I launch FF a screen that says "loading please wait" flashes for an instant then I wind up with a blank black window with the title "Fender Fuse - fuse.fender.com." I have uninstalled a reinstalled a couple of times, but nothing changes. Any help will be appreciated.

Hi, on my XP, I had no .net framework, silverlight, Internet Ixplorer, or recent Service Packs, and auto-update was always off. Music software just worked. I downloaded FUSE 2, 299 meg, and with the amp disconnected, installed IE8, xp Service Pack 3, and then FUSE. I registered Amplitube and Ableton Lite during that process. After the last reboot prompt, I plugged in the amp, and everything worked, except my brain, which is not under warranty :(
If you have an ancient 'restore point' perhaps prior to installing a .net version, or silverlight, that may be worth reverting to, but first back up your crucial data, and then run disk repair, defrag, and a barrage of updated spybot S&D type utilities,
so you have a clean slate. I found a utility to strip all the .net frameworks
on your system, some folks have 3 at once, needed for various apps collected along the way. The FUSE install includes both a .net and Silverlight, and I had no previous versions of them installed, to clutter the registry. I also needed to update to the latest 'flash', for some
Fuse features to work on my system.
Cheers :)

Thanks, sixline. I did have three versions of .net on my machine, which I deleted using the utility. I then uninstalled an reinstalled Silverlight, .Net 3.5 and Fenderfuse. No joy.

Hi Kevin77,

While it seems your issue is similar to one experienced by the above posters it's a little different. If the Loading. Please Wait... screen is briefly displayed followed by a black or blank screen, you most likely have an outdated version of IE installed. If that Loading. Please... wait screen won't disappear, there could be a problem with the Silverlight install.
I would update the browser to IE7 or later and go from there.

Loren

Hey Kevin
I had the same problem as you.
I updated IE and now it works fine.

Good Luck

Just to relate my experience. Got my Mustang II two days ago. Installed the FUSE on my music room computer, XP, late after playing the wonderful '65 Deluxe preset last night. Download version so it would be uptodate. Installed fine. Tried to start and got the quick flash "please wait.." tried a few times same thing...............went to bed.

Got up this morning and came straight here. Read the threads. Downloaded new version of IE8, did some other updates, removed Fuse and Sliverlight and reinstalled.

Up and running.

So first thing seems to be make sure everything is up to date..............DUH.

Hey Stinger22,

Thanks for sharing your experience. Just curious, what other software besides IE did you have to update?

Thanks,
Loren
