I've been trying to install Fuse on my (Mac OS X 10.6.4) laptop, and have come up against what I gather is a problem with compatibility (having Googled and searched this forum) with Power PC Macs.

I REALLY wanted Fuse to work because I'm old-fashioned and I like the visual interface of Fuse... pictures of pedals and amp fronts. I dislike the interface, for tweaking the sounds, on the G itself... although I guess I could get used to it.

I wish it had been made clear that there were issues like this... I'm not the only Mac user on the planet!

I'm inclined to take the amp back to the shop and swap for 'separates', as it were.

Am I getting overly upset? Is Fuse really just a nice interface, or will I be missing something crucial in not having it? It seems I can still download presets and band-tracks, but not upload presets to the Community.

Please reassure me!

Bump. The Boss JS-8 seems a better thought out package... as long as you accept that it's not a 30 watt amp... (which I'm not sure I can coz the G-Dec does sound pretty good).

It has loads more of everything - better ergonomics, interface and LED graphics, more presets and backing tracks, easier to load tunes from laptop... and, crucially for me, is Mac compatible several operating systems back.

I got a MAC Pro with OSX 10.6.4 software and the Fuse is working. Only problem I had is the Menu bar has given me trouble. Otherwise everything else appears to be working. In fact, I have 48 songs and preset loaded thru the Fuse Software into the GDEC.

Hope this helps

Hey Guys,

Please take a look at this sticky regarding Mac OS 10.6.4 issues.
http://www.fender.com/community/forums/ ... hp?t=40308

Unfortunately, we were not able to support the older PowerPC Macs and any OS before Leopard (10.5) with Fender FUSE. Keep in mind that the G-DEC 3 will import downloaded content and function as an audio interface, without running Fender FUSE.

I got FUSE working!!!

However, the only Mac laptop I have that runs the latest OS X is not for playtime... work only (wifey's orders!), so I'm thinking of getting a cheap PC.

Loren, or anyone else, can you please point me in the direction of the required specification for a PC to run FUSE? I'm a PC virgin, so please give me the 'cat sat on the mat' / 'spell it out like I'm an idiot' treatment!

Even go as far as telling me which PC's to consider please.

Thanks.
