To get right to the point. I find having the Amp and effect simulation setup
tied to the Band Track too restrictive since I rarely want the exact same tone
throughout the entire song. IE. You usually want more distortion during a solo.
If you go to another "Preset", you just changed the backing track. It's a
shame because the editing capabilities of each aspect of this amp is out
of this world, as is the quality, and sounds! I love this Amp!

It's the best modeling amp I have ever owned. It sounds fantastic.
The integration of the Fuse SW and the expansion possibilities there
are awesome.

I have 2 suggestions on how to improve this situation.

1 - The simplest way would be a Firmware update to the amps OS to just
give an option on each Preset when activated, causes the backing track
on that preset to continue playing when the player switches to another preset (obviously for the purposes of changing just the tone of the amp) using scrolling or a Quick Access shortcut.
In other words, if this particular preset's backing track is currently playing when you switch presets, it continues playing until "Stop" is used, or it reaches the end and it's not set to repeat. Otherwise, it keeps looping.
2 - The cooler and more extensive solution would be, allow presets to
be automated in the "FUSE" sw. So, I can play my backing track in FUSE, and turn knobs, bypass effects, etc. all within the preset, and my controls are being recorded in real time, to be reapeated with the backing track. All that data could be imported into the amp with the preset.

I agree that the preset tied to a band track in it's current state is inflexible because you can't change presets or use the QA settings without the band track stopping or changing. So I completely agree and have lobbied for these kind of features in a firmware update as you have. I have owned every GDEC so far (except the junior and the executive). With the 3Thirty they are getting so close to having this thing nailed, but I hope they can intigrate some of these great feature ideas to make this amp more performance oriented without having to wait for yet another in the GDEC series. I really hope they can implement some of this stuff in the GDEC 3 series with a firmware and software update.

Put me on the beta testing team. I'll help you get all this stuff lined out! ; )

Take care,

Bob

Hey Guys,

Your bring up some interesting points. We always pass along suggestions to the engineers and developers. This one will be passed along as well.

I agree completely with Bob. These are obvious shortcomings and should be able to be addressed with a firmware update. Another issue is the limited time for recording clips with a maximum of 2:35 or so in low-fi. I think that should be unlimited as long as there is sufficient memory on an SD card.

I'm still searching for the Blues Jr. sound I love, but I do believe the 3-30 is probably capable of coming pretty close. In my opinion, the Blues Jr. is one of the best sounding amps, and just costs a few bucks for than the 3-30.

A simple option in the utility menu: "continuous band track mode" with yes or no option.

maybe even have the the tap/tuner button (also on peddle) have a third function like when you push it down one time fast then hold the second time it would also switch the "continuous band track mode" on and off.
