Is it possible to add an additional line out jack to the DEC3 for the guitar?

Currently using the existing line out jacks to a mixer/amp system, and to a Peavey KB300 amp. Would like to be able to tap into the speaker lead and add a new jack to run the guitar portions directly into a Twin Reverb Amp.

Is this at all possible?

Hi asiegler,

That's an interesting idea. At present, the Fender G-DEC 3 (Thirty) is set up to output either Band only or all audio content. There is not a way to split the signals to discrete outputs. But I will pass this along to our engineering team.

Yes it would be nice in addition to the existing stereo out to have a line out or another stereo pair with L/Mono - R output option to send the guitar processing out to a seperate amp or input. With speaker simulation option for direct output for recording. So you could assign your guitar to speaker/stereo pair 1/stereo pair 2 and you could assign the band tracks likewise.

Output Options for both Guitar and Band Tracks:

SP, ST1, ST2, SP/ST1, SP/ST2, ALL

That would be nice and flexible.

Hi bobrowden,

I will pass this discussion link on to one of our engineers here in R & D. Thanks to both of you for the ideas.

Here is your fix: you just need two 1/4" female jacks a direct box and two short patch cables.

open the back of your G-DEC 3 cut the wire to the speaker solder one end to the first female jack and the other end to the other jack drill holes in the back cover for the jacks to mount (put the speaker jack lower than the amp output jack so as not to confuse them) connect the amp output jack to the direct box input and the direct box output to the speaker jack and then the direct box low z to the mixer or amp with a low z /high z adapter.

when you are not using this just use the patch cable from one jack to the other.

How ever you will be voiding the warranty I am sure. but you will have what you want.

or they could put another option in the utility menu to "split the signals" guitar to right and band to the left or vice versa. but yes you wouldn't have stereo output but this could be done on this version of the G-DEC 3.

Thanks for info.

I would love to see it be software change verses a hardware change.

I'm currently using a ProDI Direct Box to get the Twin to work. Does clean everything up so that all my amp sources work together with no ghost sounds.

Thanks
