After trying Plug and Plug failing on every occasion, I found the only way to go is with virtualbox running windows inside Linux with Fuse. It works ok but is a lil slow due to the fact that running a virtual machine is using resources that my computer just does not have, 3.46ghz Celeron (crap processor) and 3gb Ram, it does work but still would be so much better if Fender would accomadate those who use Linux, Windows is a good OS for anything that does not require the internet, I have a Windows machine but it will never see the internet

+100 for a Linux version. As mentioned earlier in this thread, FUSE takes a $120 amp and elevates it to something several times that value.

I would be willing to be an alpha/beta/gamma tester for any experiment you might have. I am currently a Senior Software Engineer for a prominent Open Source database support company and specialize in storage engine technology. In previous lives I have done Windows server and kernel development. so if there is anything I can do to help, please don't hesitate to ask.

Original post was 7 years ago. I guess they never got around to it.

All development of Fender Fuse has clearly been halted, as they have moved on to the new “GT” line of Mustang amps and the new Fender “Tone” app (which is NOT backwards compatible with the earlier Mustang series amps).

Fender Tone doesn’t run on Linux (or Windows/MAC either for that matter). It’s available for Android and IOS only.

You have 4 options:

1. Live with Fuse and your v1 or v2 amp as they are. Don’t expect updates to Fuse or your firmware, because they aren’t coming.

2. Buy into the new Mustang GT line of amps and hope they feel like making a Linux application some day

3. Go with a different product which has the features you seek

4. Forget about digital amps altogether and go with a standard SS or tube amp

My opinion about a Linux application: It would be a lot of time/work/money spent to please a very limited amount of users. Just a guess, but I’m figuring the majority of Mustang users are on the younger side and have never heard of Linux or cared enough to check it out.

What percentage of Mustang users would you guess have Linux OS as a home desktop? More than 5%? My guess is 3% or lower. But let’s just say 5%. If they sold 10,000 units, they would be creating the application for 500 people.
