Many thanks to piorekf, Plug works quite nicely. I actually had it set up in Linux much faster (say 10 minutes) than FUSE in Windows (hours). Not Fender's fault though: a failed .Net installation nightmare.

Thanks Guys,

If you do have Fender FUSE running via V Box, WINE, etc., would you mind letting us know what steps were required to get it running?

Loren

Hi Loren.

I run Win XP in a VirtualBox environment under Linux. After reading the "system requirements" for FUSE, I went about upgrading my XP (.NET, Silverlight, IE 8, and upgrading to SP3). After that, I installed FUSE, and it ran fine.

When I first ran it, it gave me the option to upgrade my Mustang III firmware to the "one included in FUSE" that I had downloaded from your website, and it failed. I tried again, this time using the 1.8 .UPD file I also downloaded from your site, and it worked like a champ (or maybe rather like a mustang).

I haven't had any issues, and, other than upgrading the previously mentioned items, didn't have to do anything special.

Put me on the list to beta test a linux version!!!

Just thought I would post on here.

Waiting on my Mustang I being delivered. In the mean time have PLUG on my main computer ready to go :D

Have FUSE from when I got a dodgy one of EBAY on the wifes lappy so set up both ways.

But so grateful for PLUG asI hate using Windows and her laptop  (Or maybe that should be it hates me)

One thing though I would like to ask. On theUnity bar in Ubuntu 12.04. Is there anyway to have a proper Icon show up rather than just a Question Mark?

Again Thanks for the work and effort thats went into PLUG much appreciated.

Hey Guys,

Just an FYI. Fender FUSE does not support any virtualization software such as Parallels or Wine.

Loren

But, for those curious, it does run fine in a VirtualBox environment (Win XP) on a 64bit Linux machine.

Once you plug in your USB cable, there's a USB icon at the bottom of the Virtualbox window, and you just right click that, and tell it which of the USB devices you want to be seen by Windows.

I thought I would give this wee a thread a bump and ask this.

I have a Raspberry Pi on the way. Has anyone tried running Plug on one before?

Does anyone over here know, where the PLUG software for Linux can downloaded from?

The previously offered link

http://piorekf.org/plug/download/

does not work any more and the user "piorekf" obviously has disappeard from this board quite a while ago.

Thanks.

Thanks for the note.

Yes, the link seems to be up and running again - after giving me a 404 error before.

Seems like the link got corrected after I mentioned it to broken.

Anyway I am glad the content is back again.

Just as an FYI Plug is in the debian repositories now.

I just loaded it up onto a Raspberry Pi.

If you don't know it's a tiny credit card sized computer that runs off 5v with 2 usb ports and a SD card. A few folk have ran them into hacked kindles and small 3.5" screens.

Can you see where I'm going
