This is a very interesting product and the amp itself can get some pretty good tones..........HOWEVER..........it crashes far too often, every ten minutes or so under heavy editing. Not being a computer geek I can't really diagnose the problem, but if I had to guess, it would be the memory gets full. This may not be a problem though since I have 8 gigs of memory. It also saves the virtual dial settings from the last edit even though I press new preset and change virtual amps. Anyway I am using Windows 7 on a dual core machine.
FWIW I have used vyzex a very similar editor for certain line 6 products and it works quite well on my machine.

I concur that Fuse crashes every few minutes on my HP with 4 gigs of ram, windows 7. I usually restart and keep going but it is a pretty big drag.

Have you noticed that if you edit the "amp dials" the move to a different amp it keeps what you did rather than reverting to the default settings?

For example if you use Champ clean, and move the gain to say 4 and the bass to 10, if you don't like that sound and switch to Blackface clean, it opens with gain on 4 and bass on 10.

Another problem which I'm not positive because of the pita of loading user presets, Like Jeff Beck Clean then open Jeff Beck Lead, which are two different amps it keeps the amp settings from the clean. Of course doing that often causes a crash.

OTOH, if you're patient, you can get some really killer tones by these edits. Even the Jazzmaster amp sim can be made to cry and sing. If they can and/or are willing to get the bugs out of this thing it could be a MAJOR hit. Except for the crashes I absolutely love the G-Dec 3 15 I bought. The crashes are a pita but they are just tedious. If you don't use fuse the amp has a killer tone.

Hi,
Have you try the compatibility mode ?
Right click on the Fender fuse shortcut, choose Properties, and Compatibility, then Execute this program in compatibility mode for Windows XP sp2 ?

The only time I have seen Fuse crash was while running version 1.1.1.

I'm running it on Windows Vista SP2 box with a Core 2 Quad and 8 GB or ram.

Running it in compatibility mode seems to help somewhat, I don't know if sp2 or sp3 makes a difference................BUT>>>>>>>>>>. I still can't save to the sd card without crashing. ............HOWEVER>>>>>>>>>>after study and research I can save directly from my pc to the g-dec using the USB drive option.....................BUT>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>now that I have the preset on the sd card I don't think it is possible to load it to the g-dec main memory without using FUSE and of course if I need to do that then I could just as easily load it from the computer to the G-dec.

Can one load a preset directly from the sd card to the g-dec without fuse?

Again, after reading all the comments here I still say this is not ready for prime time, but it sure is cool!

I think some of the problems may be windows 7 related and/or possible display related since I can access some of the buttons on the fuse, like scroll display list.

From the advanced manual:
Import One Preset—Use the Import menu to import any
one preset from an SD card inserted into the G-DEC 3.
To import one preset from the SD card to the G-DEC 3:
1. Press and hold the EXIT button to activate the Utility
menus.
2. Use the soft-keys (3–or–4) to access the Import menu
3. Turn the big knob and select the preset you want to
import.
4. Press SAVE.
5. Turn the big knob to select the preset you want to save
over.
6. Press SAVE again to confirm and finalize the preset import.
♫ Any band track associated with the imported preset will
only play if an SD card with the band track file (media) is
plugged into the G-DEC 3.

Great, we'll get this thing figured out yet.

I am still just tickled with the tweaking ability that FUSE allows. Having the ability to put the effects before and after the amps is cool, as is the tine stack ability. I'm getting some very sweet tone out of her, that kinda class A multiple harmonic overtone thing!

I did the right click properties and I am running vista and that options does not exist. Its defaulted to Windows XP. Do I need to do anything?

I'm loving Fuse also. I really like the flexibility it offers, and am getting some great tones out of it. Much better than the other software amp emulations I have tried.

No, I have Vista and I don't use compatibility mode.

I don't see Windows 7 as an option.

Mine crashes in Vista every 5-10 minutes as well. It doesn't seem to care what I'm doing, it just crashes on its own. It's nothing we're doing wrong, it's just a very buggy app that needs major debugging.
