It been a while since the Mac OS X Public Beta v0.9.10 was released. You would expect the "real deal" to be released soon???? I mean not a Beta version but the real Mac-version of Fender Fuse??

Mac guys, you are not alone. I have been trying for the last 2 days to get Fuse to recognize SD cards. I have tried "Patriot 2Gz" and at Lorens suggestion a "Sandisk 4Gz". Same problem, Fuse can not read or write to the SD card in the Amp. After numerous work around with Loren at Fender the problem remains unresolved.

I bet this is an issue with ALL Mac's not just those who have posted here. I love the amp and figure this is a software issue that hopefully will be solved when the complaints reach a critical mass.

If I find anything that solves the problems I will post. I am going to try a different formatting of the SD card for starters.

Good Luck,
-Bill-

Bought my G-Dec 3 30 last week and only got around to trying Fuse last night, so I'd best add my voice to the list of those affected.

How frustrating! I have four Macs (graphic designer) and it doesn't work on any of them. It installs on my latest ones (OS X 10.6...+) and opens to the point where the Fuse window appears, gives a little flicker of life and then hangs... ie. dead.

Hope they resolve it soon (OS X version announced in April... it's now June 21st). In the meantime, it would have helped if Fender had been a little more upfront about the problem; I struggled with it for a couple of hours last night, thinking it was either me or each individual computer's operating system.

If I had known there was a problem, but that it was being sorted, I would have accepted that and not got wound up with Fender over it.

I'm still in two minds as whether to SOLVE THE PROBLEM FOR MYSELF... ie. return it to the shop and buy a BOSS JS-8.

Hello VerySlowHand,

I believe the previous poster's issues were resolved a while back. I'm sorry you are having so many problems with Fender FUSE on your Macs. This is not normal behavior. Are you using Intel Macs? Please give us a call so we can get this sorted out for you.

Hi Loren,

Thanks for the offer of help. I'm in the UK - if we can sort this out without a phone call I'd be grateful. I'm using an Intel Core 2 Duo Mac - OS X version 10.6.2.

Other than that, I'm not sure what I can tell you. The download and installation seems to work fine, but when I restart and try to open Fuse it just hangs there - I can see the dashboard, but it is dark, inactive and unresponsive.

Hope that helps you to identify my problem - does my OS X version need an update for Fuse to work?

Thanks.

Thanks for the info. Your system shouldn't require an update for Fender FUSE to work. You can try uninstalling and reinstalling the 1.0.0 software package. Do you have your amp connected to your computer? Is it connected directly or through a USB hub or keyboard? If you'd like to shoot us an email at TSL@fender.com we can give you a call instead.

Hi Loren,

I took the above to be clues and eureka! Hooked Mac to G-Dec and it worked.

As far as I can see though, nowhere in the Knowledge Base Application Download from the Web for Mac (or in the manuals?) does it say that you have to be hooked up to the G-Dec during installation... unless I missed it somewhere.

Anyway, thanks - at least I know it works (at least on my latest Mac's) and that I'm not quite as dumb as I was beginning to think!

VerySlowHand (or should that be VerySlowHead?)
