Hi Patti. I don't work for Fender so my answer is a user to user and not an official one.. :) But, I have been using the G-DEC for about 2-3 years and recently upgraded to the new G-DEC 3 30. I also use Windows XP SP2.

From what I can tell and my experience, the G-DEC is compatible with standard SDHC cards. I bought a 8 GB PNY Optima HDSC from Wal-mart and it works perfectly. Also just bought a DYNEX card reader for my PC so I can read/write the MIDI files from Windows when the amp is not plugged in via USB. It works great as well.

Hope this helps,
Randy (U2_Fan)

Hi Patti,

I haven't had any SD cards NOT work with the new 3 Thirty G-DEC. I've been using DANE-ELEC cards that I purchased on sale at Target, but my favorite SD cards are the long running SanDisk cards. I've used the SanDisc cards in all my cameras forever, so had lots of experience with them. They are very frequently on sale at Staples office supply.

I've been using G-DEC 30 amps for years for playing out with backing tracks and I am now converting all of my MIDI backing tracks to Wave files and loading them onto mostly 4G SD cards.

Have fun!

I had this same problem. The solution is to format the SD Card on your mac with "Master Boot Record Partition Map" instead of the mac default "Guid Partition Map." These are options you can select under the Partition tab in Disk Utility.

hope this helps.
