How to complete the Audio Setup? The manual tells me how to do it, but the application won't allow me to do it.

Hi carolca98,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble setting up AmpliTube Fender LE with the ASIO driver. I assume you are referring to the stand-alone version of AmpliTube Fender LE?

When you say it won't let you complete set up; can you give me more detail? Are you able to open the Audio Setup under Settings? If so, select ASIO as diver type. Then choose Fender Universal ASIO for input & output.

Then click on Panel. There you should see USB Audio Device. Select that, and be sure to de-select any other driver you are seeing. Close that window. And click OK. You should now have the Fender ASIO driver set up. If you need further assistance, please contact us at 480-596-7195, and ask for the TSL.

Thanks.

Hi Alan,

Thanks for the reply.

Amplitube Fender LE was installed from the DVD that came with the G-DEC 3 Thirty. I successfully followed the rather draconian authorization and registration procedure with the three sets of numbers.

There are two menu options along the top of the window, "File" (which includes only the "Quit" option), and "Settings" (which includes "Audio Setup" and "Preferences").

"Preferences" brings up a single dialog box with "Tempo" and a "Tap" button.

Selecting "Audio Setup" brings up a dialog box with two basic options: "ASIO" and "DirectX." The Owner's Manual recommends using ASIO. Selecting "ASIO", however, blanks out all options but the left and right output channels; as far as I can see the "Panel" button does nothing at all in this option.

Selecting "DirectX", on the other hand, brings up a dialog box with all the options open (and which appears to enable the amp), but the "Panel" button is blanked out.

Also, I thought that there were four amp type simulations in the Amplitube Fender LE. I see only three: the '65 Twin Reverb, the Super-Sonic, and the MH-500 Metalhead.

There is nothing in the user manual that addresses any of this. It appears to my unknowing eye that this is an even more stripped down version than was intended.

Hope this helps.

Thanks so much,

Carol

Hi Carol,

It sounds like perhaps you have not installed the ASIO driver that came with your Fender G-DEC 3. You can locate the ASIO driver on your DVD installer that came with your amp. It is in the DVD Rom Content/Fender Software PC.

Run the ASIO installer. Then run AmpliTube Fender LE, and check the audio settings again. You should see the Fender ASIO driver as an option.
Please let us know if this worked for you. In regard to the included amp models, the LE version includes 3 amp, 4 cabinet & 2 mic models.

Thanks.

I'm surprised more people haven't asked about this considering there is no documentation included to install the ASIO driver.

It would have been nice to have some basic explanation of what was on the G-DEC CD, what it's used for and how to install it. All I recevied was a couple slips of paper with software registration numbers.

I only knew to look for the ASIO driver from reading the FAQ in the G-DEC support area. Maybe an instruction sheet can be added to the packaging.

Hi Carol,

I will pass along your input to the appropriate parties here at Fender. I wanted to know, are you up and running? Did the ASIO driver install correctly? Please let me know when you have a moment.

Thanks.

OK, that was simple, wasn't it!
I agree, a little comment somewhere in the documentation would have saved a little confusion...
Thanks so much!
