Hello,

I'm using Mac OSX and when I attempted to install Fender Fuse from the DVD included with my new GDEC the install failed.

1. I copied over the file FuseDownloader.zip and unzipped it.
2. I ran the FuseDownloader app.
3. A dialog/info box appears which says "Please wait. Fender FUSE is being downloaded and installed." This box has two buttons and a progress bar. The buttons are "Begin Download" and "Ok".
4. After waiting a while it's clear nothing is happening. The app seems to be frozen since the progress bar doesn't update.
5. Clicking "Begin Download" moves the progress bar for 2 seconds but then it freezes again. (clicking on this button repeatedly in frustration also appears to have no effect)
6. Clicking "Ok" just closes the window.

Suggestions?

Hey Brian,

I apologize for the issue you are experiencing. What you are supposed to be seeing is a dialog box that explains that Fender FUSE for Mac OS X is coming soon. We are actually still working on it and we appreciate your patience while it's being finished. We will be sending out notification emails once it's available. If you'd like to be notified just send us an email at consumerrelations@fender.com or call us at 480-596-7195.

Once it is available you can download it using the Fender FUSE Downloader app on the G-DEC 3 DVD. Thanks for your purchase and again we appreciate your patience. We promise it will be well worth the wait.

Thanks for the response. Do you have an estimated timeframe for when FUSE will be ready to support MAC OSX?

This info should be featured prominently in the FAQ. Reading the Fender FUSE PDF manual paragraph one of the installation process states Mac users must have a internet connection to install Fender Fuse. This gives one the illusion that it exist.

Agreed, completely. It would have been nice to know that this portion is still "in the works", which has been code for other software I've been waiting patiently for to be coded for Mac as "don't hold your breath".

Hope that's not the case here.

I just complained to Sweetwater (where I purchased the GDEC 3 30) about the lack of honesty in disclosing the MAC Fuse software not available... I'm sorry but "soon" isn't an answer.. you should not say its Mac and Windows compatible but then fail to disclose the MAC part is currently Vaporware!

I'm mad enough to file an FTC complaint.

How do you file an FTC complaint?
I think it is unacceptable to falsely advertise Mac-compatibility.
I have made a complaint to the Scandinavian agent for Fender

Not sure you can but your country probably has an equivalent to our Federal Trade Commission... to file a complaint you visit www.ftc.gov and follow instructions...

Fender needs to step up to the plate and give us a date and I am giving them till May 1st to do it.. then I think everyone who is disappointed in the blatant false advertising should file a complaint with the FTC and with the State in which they live- whatever agency handles consumer complaints.

In todays business environment I find it unbelievable that a Company like Fender would treat its customers this way... makes no sense.

Thanks. I have not filed a complaint with the FTC. I suggest you do the same.

I also filed a complaint 26250322. I had hoped since there are Fender moderators that watch the posts they might respond.. obviously they don't have answers so its up to us to push this. They also obviously do not care about what their customers think.

The Fender staff would like to apologize to G-DEC 3 owners who are Mac users patiently waiting for Fender FUSE for Mac to be released. We hear you, and understand your frustration. Many of us here at Fender are Mac users, too! It has always been our intention to deliver a full-featured Mac version of Fender FUSE to our customers in a timely manner. Regrettably, unforeseen delays have prevented us from doing so.

The good news is that Fender FUSE for Mac is currently in final testing, and is now within days, not weeks, of release. When it is available, Fender will be sending notification emails to interested Mac users. To receive a notification, please send a request to consumerrelations@fender.com. Fender FUSE for Mac will be available for direct free download through the Fender FUSE Community, the Fender website, and through current G-DEC 3 DVD's that contain a link to the installer.

We appreciate the patience of our loyal customers as we complete the testing and prepare to release this software to the public.

Loren. thanks for responding but you missed what we were saying.. you need to make sure people can make an informed choice by correctly telling folks BEFORE they purchase this item that the MAC software is "Days" and not weeks away.

It's your method of non-disclosure that is making us mad....
