Hi again Fender community.
So I have tried to apply some practical experience and record a video of myself through "youcam" while playing along with a backing track. I selected my mustang 3 v2 amp as the audio source to record from of course in the settings of "youcam". The backing track is playing through the fender fuse program as I play (connected to headphones fyi). But not recieving the track during recording, just my gorgeous self and the guitar audio.

I tried going through "Audacity" but there is no way to bring up the video camera (that I could find). Audacity does however actually record both audio sources.
I am curious how folks get this done?
Do you record video without sound, then merge the audio file with the video recording somehow after the fact?
What am I missing here?
No doubt it is something ridiculous and obvious I bet.
Thanks all

Well, through more research, it has become obvious some editing will need to be done.
I am hoping to achieve this through
-Audacity
-CyberLink "youcam"
-Power Director 12

Apparently Power Director has an "auto sync" function that could be quite accurate when importing an audio file to add to an existing video. Thinking I can record all audio through Audacity while running my webcam and having it record via internal, then hopefully and effortlessly "auto sync" then wipe out the internal recording.
Anyone tried this or something similar?
It's that or I have to manually sync my backing track audio through Audacity, then returning to Power Director to jam it all together...or something of the sort.

Think you need editing to sync sound and video. But why not use Reaper to record? It's free even if it's says 30 day trials.

I just use Audacity for the recording then try to sync the video.. my son has a video editing package. Here is an example.. a bit rough I know. I am interested if you find a solution.

Hey bud,

Been a while since I posted this thread. Got it all figured out now. I use Audacity, and power director 15 as my video editor. The audio sync feature alone was well worth the money for the program. My only issue now is getting a recording that I am happy enough with to upload online lol.

If you are curious about it, go to youtube and check out power director audio sync. My computer came preloaded with power director 12, no audio sync of course. You will get the whole Director Suite for a very good price. Something to consider.
