Quick question, what cable do I use to connect the Mustang 111 to my computer ? Tried a normal USB and it didn't work, is it some sort of strange Fendery USB that I've never heard of? Why didn't this damn cable come with the amp ?

All new Fender Mustang III Amp include a fully USB compliant USB to Mini USB cable (about 6 feet long)!

There is nothing unique about the USB to Mini USB cable provided by Fender with the Mustang.

The Mustang III amp should also have been packaged w/ the Power Cable, the Two Button Footswitch, and the footswitch 1/4" TS to TS connecting cable.

It sounds like you were trying to use a non standard USB to Mini USB cable with the amp.

Not all USB cables are wired identically! There is no way to determine if they are fully USB compliant from the exterior, other than what may be indicated on their packaging or the device they were provided with.

If you use any standard fully USB compliant USB to Mini USB cable capable of full Data functions it will work with the Fender Mustang. Should you need a longer connection length to reach your computer, and the total run exceeds 15 feet, use an Active USB Extension cable. An Active USB Extension cable includes a Signal Repeater capability to maintain the signal strength of the longer overall run length. When you connect the Active Repeater Extension cable to your computer it is powered by the USB Host Mode computer.

Hmmm - mine came with a cable but then it was v1.

The USB connector is "mini B" and looks like this:

Nothing special or "Fendery" about these. If your cable isn't working, try a different one. If that doesn't work, maybe it's the port on your computer or the amp.
