How do I save presets to disk for safe keeping, instead of to the amp?

They are just XML files, you can use Windows Explorer or whatever file mgt utility you prefer to save them to any location you choose.

Could you elaborate on that? This doesn't help me at all. :(

The end game would be to be able to load them in again at will.

Thanks!

One way to back up presets:

If you create a backup, it will contain all presets as currently configured. To create a backup, click Main Menu and select Utilities==>Backup.

If you ever need to restore a backup, click Main Menu and select Utilities==>Restore. Then browse to the most recent backup file you created.

FUSE's Backup and Restore routine is, if I recollect correctly, an all inclusive procedure that Backs up and Restores the Amp's full set of Presets. 100 for the models MIII/MIV/MV and 24 for the MI/MII.

If individual or selected Preset group file management is what you need and want, the File Manager utility of your choice for your Operating System will provide far more flexibility than what limited capability FUSE offers.

O.P., if you want to keep a copy of an individual preset file, and would like specific instructions, please let us know what you have installed Fuse on: ... a PC? MAC? What operating system?

Okay, I've found the backup function and it does what is said in the thread.

I'm on Windows 10.

My idea was, that for different groups, I could pick and choose presets I've made and load them up just the way I want them. If I'm misusing FUSE that way, I'm open to better ways to do this.

Thanks!

Using FUSE to group or organize Presets is a tedious and painstaking process.

If you have an Android Tablet or Smartphone the REMUDA App makes this a Breeze with Drag & Drop reorganizing, Favorite Flagging, and more! Also, when a Preset is Edited and Saved a .FUSE format file is automatically generated in the Presets folder! REMUDA is only available for Android.

PC:

The default folder for audio files or Presets downloaded to your computer from either the amplifiers internal memory or an SD card is My Documents/Fender/FUSE. This folder contains an Audio folder and a Presets folder. The Audio folder is used for audio files and the Presets folder is used for amp preset files.

If you have downloaded a Band Track, it will be in the Wav/MP3 folder inside the Audio folder.

No, that's legit, carry on. 8)

Another way to organize presets is by using backups. You can move the presets around all you want and run a backup every time you have a nice palette of sounds going. Then, when you want that same preset configuration a few months later, just restore the appropriate backup. FUSE works just fine if you don't expect it to do the work for you.

Fantastic, strings! I think I have all the information. Using Backup that way also sounds like an easy idea. If you don't hear from me again, I've got it working.

Thanks!

Email the developer! I know he has been working on support for the other FUSE supported amps when I spoke with him several months ago. Not sure how far along he may be. I am confident he would welcome you contacting him. The email address can be found on the Golgle Play App Store.
