Just found a bug in FUSE. When you use the headphones, the BAND does not play through the cans, it plays through my studio monitors. WHAT!!!! 8)

Plug the 'headphone' or 'line out' from your computer into the AUX in on the Mustang III amp. Then mute your computer speakers if necessary.

The BAND plays in Fuse which is a program that lives on your computer. So the sound needs a way to get back to the amp for you to hear it there.

Great idea and workaround. Thanks!

Keep in mind that the Mustang III's Celestion speaker is not FRFR! Thus, the Band track playback audio through the Mustang's 12" Celestion speaker, will be significantly rolled off from 4kHz up. See Celestion's website frequency response curves for the various 12" Guitar speakers used in the Mustang III, Mustang IV and Mustang V cabinets.

Hey MusicLaw, the O.P. stated "When you use the headphones, the BAND does not play through the cans". I'm thinking that Celestion speaker won't come into play in this scenario.

Good point!

My comment was to shed light on the amps' speaker characteristics regarding the option of allowing the audio, once routed to the amp, to play through the speaker; obviously as an option to using the headphones with the Mustang.

BTW, the amp's Util Menu Looper setting Normal vs. Looper also should be consided as it can affect the Mustang's FX Loop signal routing. There are differences in the way the cab sims sound when using the headphones as opposed to the amp's speaker. The Looper diagram pdf on Fender's site depicts this and mentions the impact Looper mode has on the XLR Line out Boost and USB gain (both of which are active only when headphones are connected).

I should have been clearer. As I audition the Mustang III v.2 in the cans, when I activate the BAND, it does not play through the cans or the Celestion speaker on the amp... it plays, via USB, to my monitor speakers.

In other words, the signal from the BAND should be routed to the amp, not my monitors.
