When I'm trying to restore original media (aerlier I've installed Blues Edition with no problem), after file 06 there is an error message: Checking File Name Error. What can I do now?

Hi MarkosPL,

I'm sorry to hear that you are having troubles with restoring your amp. I would suggest that you try one more pass with the restore files loaded on to a different SD card, in case the amp does not like that particular card. Beyond that, you may need to get the amp checked out. But try a second card. See how that goes. And be sure to let us know how it is going and if we can assist further.

Best Regards,

Alan

Thanks. Amp is restored now - I've used another SD Card. Now I'm going for short winter holidays. After return I will examine more SD cards. This one with restoring error was SONY SD HC 8 GB Class 4. But after restoring from another card, this SD card is working with my amp without any problems. ;)

Greetings from Poland!

Hi MarkosPL,

I'm very happy to hear that your amp is restored and in good shape now. And that is very interesting about the other SD card now working. Once you get a chance to check things out, please let us know what you find. And have a nice holiday.

Best Regards,

Alan

I think I know what is going on with restoring original media :)

I have tested four SD cards. Two of them are 8GB so they are formatted as FAT32. Next two cards are 512MB nad 1GB and they are formatted as FAT. HD in G-DEC 3 is also FAT.

Restoring original media from SD cards with FAT is working fine, but when I'm using FAT32 SD Cards I can't restore original content because of errors. They are: Checking Media - Media Error, Checking Media - Size Error or Checking File - Name Error.

Greetings from Lodz, Poland!

Hi MarkosPL,

Thanks for the update and detailed information. It should be the case that either FAT or FAT32 should work with SD cards and your amp. Have you tried to reverse the order (i.e. FAT in the 8GB cards and FAT32 on the 512)? In any case, I am not suggesting that you need to test any more. I am only thinking that it may also be the specific cards vs. the formatting. Anyway, it sounds like you have been able to restore your amp successfully. That is good. Please let us know if we can assist further.

Best Regards,

Alan

In my Windows 8.1 there is no option for formatting 8GB card as FAT. Only: FAT32, NTFS nad exFat. But I can use FAT32 for smaller cards.

And here is the result: restoring form 1GB FAT32 card works fine. So it looks like my G-DEC 3 Fifteen don't like my Sony nad SanDisk 8GB SD HC FAT32 cards ;)

I have another question. This time about 4-Button footswitch... I can't find ULT-4 footswitch (P/N 0994070000) in any shop. But there are few shops with "Fender 008-0996-000 4-Button Footswitch for Mustang amps". Is this footswith also good for G-DEC? Do I have to open new topic for this question?

The Fender 4-Button Footswitch for Mustang amps works just fine with the G-DEC 30. The footswitch labels are different on the Mustang footswitch. I compared the two from photos on-line and made new labels with a label gun for my footswitch.
