Post subject: G-DEC 3 15 stuck in "headphones mode," won't play out loud

Hi,

I was recording with my G-dec 3 15 last night using Ableton Live and an auxiliary cable hooked up to my computer's external mic input. It has always worked previously, but this time when I removed the cable, my amp seems to be registering that the cable is still connected. It only makes a small amount of sound when turned up all the way, but works normally if I connect headphones. Is there any way to perform a hard reset of the amp or something like that to fix this??

Hi Velter14,

I am sorry to hear that you are having some trouble with your amp. It sounds like you may be experiencing an issue that we see once in a while where the headphone jack does not release audio back to the speaker after the jack is removed. One thing you can try is to 'exercise' the headphone jack by inserting and removing the jack about 20 times. Once you have completed this, test to see if audio routes back to the speaker as expected. If so, great. If not, you will want to contact the Fender® Authorized Service Center nearest to you (for North America). If you are outside of North America, you would want to contact the Fender Distributor in your region.

To take the amp in to a service center, you would need to gather your original sales receipt, and contact the service center that you have selected to let them know that you are coming in. Please let us know if we can assist any further from this end as well.
