HI,

You probably have seen a couple of my posts. I just asked myself, the main reason for buying the G-DEC is the backing tracks and basically having a band in a box to make practising better. I never used MIDI before and woudl like to hear what your experience is coming from the same background.

Do you use that portion or do you just play and noodle around with the backing tracks. I am limited in time with two kids and just want to play more and learn in a more friendly environment (playing just guitar sounds dull, no reason to finish songs when you played the verse and chorus a couple of time).

Is the 15W loud enough or is the 30W so much better? I have an 8" Celestion from an old cambridge 15 laying around so that could be swapped.

Well let me know if you have any input.

cheers and a good weekend.

Dennis

The G-Dec/B-Dec is worth it's weight in gold. Regardless what anyone says to the contrary, practicing the basics do wonders for improving your technique, which the Fender has nailed with this series. The songs that come preload, while not the most appealing from a musical sense, give you a sampling of genres that are invaluable. Finally, through MIDI, you can download just about any song you can think of for play on the G-Dec. Don't want full accompaniment? Use the Jammer Songmaker to mute the instruments you don't want to hear as you practice. I can't speak for anyone else, but next to getting a Fender Bass, getting the B-Dec was the best investment I made in my music development.

As far as the choice of G-Dec 15 or 30, you can always plug the G-Dec into another amp, giving you all the power you want. I hope this helps.

In addition to double the power, the G-DEC 30 has some other capabilities including the optional foot switch, line output and speaker output.
