I,ve read on g-dec.com about using the Jensen mod-8. I was just wondering if anyone has used any of the other 8" jensens. They have a vintage model that sounds like it might be good but it's pricey. Hoping for a little feedback before I lay out ninety bucks, the mod-8 is about $20.

Thanks

I dont know about the Jenens... But I do know that filling the box with fiber fill and using a small (inexpensive) pre amp makes the gdec 30 sound great. See the post "economic ways to..."

Good Luck and let us know what happens

Because you are asking about an 8 inch speaker, I'm assuming you are using a Gdec Jr. I would recommend one of 2 things.

First, using the headset out to feed an aux or tape input on a home stereo or sound system. You will baa amazed the quality of the sound with the good full range speakers.

The second idea will void the warentee. Add a speaker out. Make sure you use an 8 ohm speaker. It would be best to use a low power, but quality speaker from a home stereo.

If you replace the internal speaker with a musical instrument speaker, it may sound good while playing, but you will loose the sound quality of the backing tracks.
