Just purchased a G-Dec 30 used. It looks in great shape. My guitar plays through it fine with all the different tones, amps, fuzz, etc.
I can't get it to play any accompaniment such as loops, drums, etc.
I may be doing something wrong. When I turn it on it shows the default set up. I can change that but when I hit start nothing happens including the default.
I have tried everything including madly pushing buttons in a frinzy
Any ideas
Don

Hi Don,

You may want to try a reset. To perform a reset on your Fender® G-DEC® 30, press the DRUMS/SAVE/EXIT buttons simultaneously while powering the amp on. Allow the amp to power on fully, then release the (3) buttons. At this point, the amp should be back to factory stock. Try playing some Band Tracks to see if they are functioning. Please let us know if we can assist further.

Best Regards,

Alan

Alan; still out there?
I also just picked up a GDEC 30 used and would like a reset. I don't even have a DRUM button to push. That first gen 15 was nice and easy. How do I get this thing going?? Thanks :?:

Hi jeffdb,

I am still here. In regard to there not being a Drums button on your amp, that is strange. If you have the Fender® G-DEC® 30, the unit should have a Drums button on the left-hand side. Please see the linked owner's manual. And please let me know if this is a different amp than you have. Thanks.

Best Regards,

Alan

That's not the manual for this amp. This one looks like the amp in the Advanced Manual PDF; it has the 3 symbol next to GDEC, on left, and shows T H I R T Y on the right under the Band Level, and Volume.

OHHH, I see there are two versions of a GDEC 30. The one you are referring to is the original. I had that new and sold it years back. What's the difference? Seems odd that the most important things in a 'jam' would be tempo and key, but those are two impossible things to even find on this blue face. The original version, and GDEC 15, had it in full display with easy adjust. What's the deal here?? Thanks

Hi jeffdb,

Thanks for the clarification. It sounds like you have the Fender® G-DEC® 3 series amp. In that case, please see the linked Fender Support article to perform an amp restore. You will need an SD card with at least 300MBs of space to complete this restore. Please let me know if I can assist further.

Best Regards,

Alan

I'll get a card and see what I can do. But why are the needed info stats MIA ??

yes it is. Thanks. That's was a tad confusing, and maybe it should have been a different name. But all history now...poor GDEC line. My goal was and is to NOT have MP3 's and such (as Fender wants to go in the direction of), but just an amp with cool tracks. So be it. So I'm off to get a SD card to try a factory reset and such.

Hi jeffdb,

The Fender® G-DEC® 3 was the newer of the series of G-DEC amps. And we are aware that some users were unhappy that the newer amps did not have the tempo and key info. displayed in the same way as the original series amps. With the newer G-DEC 3 amps, Fender added the ability to play back wav and mp3 files, along with retaining the ability to play back standard MIDI files.

There are still adjustments in the 'Band' settings menu for tempo and transpose for MIDI files. And, if you like, you can still download and add the original MIDI files from the older G-DEC 30 to your newer G-DEC 3 Thirty. Please see the included link below. And please let me know if I can assist further.

Best Regards,

Alan
