Hi Everyone
I'm new here. I'm a 68 year old Disabled Vietnam Vet so please bare with me. I am not the greatest at reading directions, etc but will work at it. I just started playing guitar again and having a great time with it and all these amazing new toys. I just picked up a used G-Dec 30 off Ebay. It seems in great shape. It didn't come with a foot switch or any user guide, etc. I downloaded the User Guide off Fender Website. It keeps talking about the G-Dec 3. Is there a difference between the G-Dec 3 and the G-Dec 30?
I just picked up the Tom Petty G-Dec song book. I can't find out where to plug in the SD Card. I see the Midi plug in in the rear. Do I need to purchase a set up for the SD Cards, etc.
Also I can't seem to find where I can purchase the foot switch or a price on them.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I played pretty good when I was younger and am actually getting my callouses back. Getting retired and older still can be fun with all the improvements available on the internet today. I signed up to Guitar Tricks. Wish they had this kind of stuff when I was a kid:)

Hi Warzone PTSD,

Thanks for your service.

I believe there were two models of the G-DEC 30. For lack of a better term, I'll call them "early" and "late" models.

This is an example of the "early" model.

This is an example of the "late" model.

Notice in the image of the "late" model, there are only two knobs on the right side as opposed to three knobs on the "early" model. Also on the far right side is the SC Card slot. The "early" model did not have an SD Card slot.

The footswitch is called a Fender ULT-4 footswitch. You can still find them on e-bay and Amazon. Also, a 4 button footswitch for a Fender Mustang amplifier will also work. The names under the bottons are just different. They are also available on e-bay and amazon and some guitar stores.

Hope This Helps.

Jerry
