Dear All
Has anyone else had any problems with the jog wheel.

After one and half years of sporadic bedroom use the wheel has stopped working. I can't do anything with it, change preset nor change any settings.

Is this a known problem or I have I go unlucky?

Cheers

Dan

At least it's lasted better than the footswitch which stopped working after a month! (always goes to preset 72 in mode one) - I decided to live with this by using preset 72 02 and 03 as my main sounds!

Dan, are you the original owner of your amp? (You didn't mention which model you have) They have a 5 year warranty, be worth checking into!

Hi danf,

We will be happy to assist. ARX320, is right. Depending on your location, you should really look into getting your Fender® G-DEC®3 into a Service Center. Please take a look at the link attached below to find information relating to our Service Centers and warranty program.

Hi there
I got back in touch with the original vendor (here in Switzerland). After speaking to them on the phone they said it would be done under guarantee as long as I had the delivery note/receipt.

Upon making the 1.5 hour journey there (not far for you in the US but you know for us European's that's half the world!) the actual owner of the shop told me it may or may not be done under the 5 year guarantee because "that's a US only guarantee". He said the guarantee might not be the same because I bought it via eBay at a lower price.
Now I'm not one to argue with shop owners so I stood there and took it although,
I was a bit miffed but couldn't be bothered to lug it back again on the bus/train so I left it with them!

Now I've recounted this story I feel I should have walked out the shop with the amp and told him to stick it.

Dear, Fender, what are my options now? The amp is now with an authorised Fender dealer although it would appear not a service centre, the owner of the shop may or may not repair it under guarantee. I'm feeling a bit like a wally!

Cheers

Dan

Hi danf,

Thanks for your feedback. As mentioned before, the Fender® Warranty program varies depending on your location. It is possible that Switzerland only offers a 1-year warranty for your Fender product. We can't make any promises but, please go ahead and contact us directly at tsl@fender.com, include your most recent post, and we will see if we can help assist further. Thanks.

Wd40 also make an electrical switch cleaner. I suppose any other switch cleaner will do.

WOW - didn't know that!! Thanx for the info!! Must be a new product. Too bad they kept the WD40 name though - confusing!
However, I see nowhere that it states that it has any lubricant in it. This is essential for rotary switches to make sure the shaft still rotates after cleaning it and doesn't gall up.
