I want to modify presets that I then bring into Quick Access. But after I modify a preset I can't get the modification to stay when I try to put it into a QA. To me, the SAVE function isn't saving as I transfer to a QA set. What am I doing wrong or is it my GDec-30?

Hi darby6,

Assuming that you have one of the newer Fender G-DEC 3 Thirty amps, please see the Fender Knowledgebase article link below for information on setting up QA Presets. And please let us know if we can assist further.

Best Regards,

Thanks for the quick reply. As I understand it then, I would make changes I want to a preset then just follow the procedure in the tutorial to have those changes dragged into the QA and the changes I made would transfer. Correct?

Hi darby6....
If you are using a GDec 3 30 you can alter or modify a preset and save it using the save button. Then this modified and newly saved preset can be assigned to any of the 3 QA positions....but, the modified preset has to be saved otherwise the changes are temporary.
A couple of questions:
When you modify your preset, do you save it?
Does the saved preset sound modified, especially if you go to a different preset then back again to the one you've just modified and saved?
cheers,
Alex

On my G-DEC3 Thirty, I had the same problem, as I didn't realize that the "save" function was locked off from the factory. You need to go in the menu per the instructions and allow changes to be saved before the "save" button will do what you want it to.

Have fun,
Bob

I'm back on saving preset changes. In fact, my preset changes disappear when I change to other presets. So I still need some help. How to get into MENU to change a SAVE lock-out? Also, I can't seem to get to TOOLS? Maybe ya just can't fix stoopid!

Hi again...
To get into the tools section, press and hold the EXIT/hold for util button below the grey wheel on the front of the GDec. The display will change to a tool/menu and you can then scroll through the various tool/menus by using the outer right or left buttons below the display. They will have labels in the display above to tell you what is next when pushed and where you are in the tools/menu is written directly above the 2 inner buttons. Keep on scrolling until you are in Mem Lock and the display will show either off or on. To change the setting, rotate the grey wheel, then push the EXIT/hold for util button to get out.
If you don't have it already, you should get the Advanced GDec manual - there are links here viewtopic.php?f=25&t=44869
Good luck darby6

Every time I change a preset on fuse with Gdec-3 Thirty connected and save either on fuse ambient or pressing save buttom on gdec both gets stocked. So I have to close fuse, turn off gdec, and When I turn both on again the preset is there saved. How can I avoid this annoying procedure... I don't thing it is normal.

thanks for any help.
