So I just bought a used g-dec 3 thirty factory + Ult 4 foot switch(will be here via UPS on this Tuesday). Some quick questions for you veteran users:

1. Anything I need to know right off the bat?
2. Is the recording software and fender amplitude bundled inside the Fuse software itself or are they separate?
3. I went to the Amplitude website and noticed several versions of Amplitude such as Slash, Orange, etc. Can those other versions be used with the g-dec 3 or is it strictly fender version only?
4. Can I also use Guitar Rig or other software similar to Fuse with the g-dec 3?

Oh and my intention for the g-dec 3 is to play at home only. I'm hoping it will help me get better as a guitarist. I'm currently playing an Olympic Pearl 2012 Fender American Deluxe HSS which I picked up this past January. And I'm playing it through a crappy Linebacker L30R amp with a Line 6 M13 stompbox modeler. Both the Linebacker amp and the M13 will be going into the closet in storage on Tuesday when my g-dec 3 gets here. Doesn't seem like I'll need the M13 anymore.

Hi Jeff and welcome!
Congratulations on your new amp. The 30 is a remarkably good amplifier.
You should look at the advanced manual available on this forum and there are links to other downloads there as well.
The Ableton and Amplitube are not bundled within Fuse, but are separate and on the same CD. You'll also need the unique serial numbers for validation of each.
I've not used either the Amplitube or Guitar Rig software so I can't answer your other questions, but it looks to me as if the Guitar Rig software is modelling software and so it shouldn't matter what you've got the guitar plugged into other than matching the amp o/p to the computer i/p????
Enjoy..
Alex

Hey just curious is there any way to get serial numbers for Amplitube Fender LE and Ableton Lite for my used g-dec 3 thirty? I downloaded Fuse and registered my amp. But there is no green redeem button under the serial number like the support pages says.

Yes, get with Fender TSL (call them at 480-596-7195), and they will get you fixed up. The G-DEC3s came with the serial numbers in the box. The original owner (if previously owned) probably has the card with it on. In any event, Fender has helped a lot of new G-DEC3 owners get the proper serial numbers.

Good luck!
Bob

Hi jeff8275,

We will be happy to assist. Since we get a large volume of calls, we wanted to make sure that all your questions were answered. The only software that interacts with your Fender® G-DEC® 3 amplifier, is the Fender® FUSE™ software. You will on the other hand be able to use your Fender G-DEC as an input and output device while recording with the bundled recording software Ableton Live Lite 8 Fender Edition. You need to make sure that you have installed our Fender Universal ASIO driver before you perform this step. All factory sealed Fender G-DEC 3 amplifiers will come with third-party software serial numbers printed on two small paper slips, but if you are buying the amplifier second hand, we recommend that you register for a Fender FUSE Community account and contact us directly at tsl@fender.com to see if you qualify for a fresh set of software serials. To answer your querstion in regards to which software we bundle with from IK Multimedia, it's the: AmpliTube Fender® SE. Please let us know if we ca assist further.
